Question Wanting to buy back my 2011 Crimson Red 135i

I understand this is a longshot, but I am looking for my 2011 135i Coupe, manual, Crimson Red, black leather interior. I had to part with it for a myriad of reasons back in 2018 and now wanting it back. I appreciate any recommendations on how I can find it. I have tracked it down as being registered in NJ after being purchased from Annapolis Subaru. If the current owner has any thought of selling it at some point, I would love a chance at it. The VIN is:

WBAUC9C54BVM10873

I purchased/ordered it in Germany and picked it up from BMW World in Munich. Drove it for five years there and sold it shortly before retiring from the Army. It's been around the Nurburg Ring twice, and I really want it back.

Thanks for the help!

I have been a member of BMWCCA for 20 years now even tho I'm in Canada. In this situation, I would call them and ask if they have any info on your VIN.

#2. I would call Vinny V. of the NJ chapter and talk with him. Also ask him if NJ DMV can be asked if they have the VIN on their records. Obviously they can not give you any personal info but at least they might tell you if it's in their records hence still in NJ.

#3. If nothing in NJ, maybe a call to a couple other chapters in the area asking if they know of anyone driving a red 135.

I have a friend here in Canada who found his fathers old E36 that was sold in the SW USA in 1996/98. Had it shipped to Syracuse NY, brought it here and restored it over 2 or 3 years.

Thanks so much for the information! I will definitely continue to dig for the whereabouts of this car. I am thinking the dealer that sold it may be able to reach out and at least pass my contact information on to the individual.

Thanks again for the reply, sW

Might try a private investigator. They have access to systems tied to LEO. Or just not available to the general public. If they can use the vin to get a plate you would be able to find it pretty easy. Also if it stayed in NJ and you sold it with plate that number could be registered to the car (I assume you have that) but I know some states you keep the plate and not sure if NJ is one or not. Good luck.
