It's normal. Here's an old thread about it.

Thank you one and all. Jiggle, wiggle, or bounce, it seems clear that I’m OK with my headlights. Acceleration issue I think is definitely a real issue. I’m keeping the new plugs and coils I bought, on hand for them immediate time. Running a dose of Royal Purple injector cleaner through right now. After about 6 gallons of fuel, I can definitely say it’s far more like what I’d expect from this car. More responsive, and less gap. Very excited to think I’m headed toward getting my wonderful car running toward its potential. This is a ‘13 135i convertible. Obviously had been sitting, as it’s only got 15,000.

Are there any smells that will come with racing the speed up over 120? I had to abort climbing past that and discovered a new odor, which seems to return when racing it up a bit. Maybe there’s a ‘normal’ odor that is associated with revving up? Obviously hoping for ‘feel good’ answers. BMWs seem to have unique odors related to exhaust maybe. I’m not sure if I’m smelling the serpentine belt or oil or something about the turbo. Potentially a poor question but maybe people will surprise me. Thanks. Lol

Could you describe the smell?

Sometimes I give it what I think is enough throttle and it just does nothing for like half a second, then takes off...
Does it surge a little when you are stopped, like at a light? With the AC on? if so, its a software problem. If you get it checked out, make sure the AC is on "MAX" and make sure you tell anyone looking at the car to leave it on "MAX". I had problems with that last year. No problems now.
