It finally happened and super knock??

So my CP finally blew tonight on my way to get my LSD put in. However that's the least of my concerns. When running the codes I also noticed a 30ED shadow code; super knock cylinder 1. How serious is this and what should I do? Prior to the CP blowing car was running flawlessly. I'm not sure how old that code is since I haven't had to check for codes in months. What could be causing that shadow code?

Reading around the interwebs it sounds like superknock is caused by timing/overboost on a tune, bad plugs, or a combo.

What tune? How old are your plugs? What version injectors?

N54 or n55?

Is the fault present or stored? If you erase it does it come back? If not, I'd assume it was a transient fault when the charge pipe blew. If it returns, then it's time to start investigating.

My first thought was a transient spike as well. Really weird things happen to air flow when the CP blows, the very definition of a transient event...

Clear and monitor, don't expect it'll return

Gotcha. I think 02Pilot & 1ana1 are probably right.
