My halos are always on, the headlight washers do not activate unless I have the headlights on. I am speaking of the 135, the M is still on a boat.

Ok, I check on my car and you can indeed turn off the DRL (ie AE rings) IF you want too. Here is how. I have a US spec 135i (here in DE) and no iDrive. I used the BC to get into the DRL mode on/off.

Use the turn signal stalk's thumb drive switch...

This is the screen that allows you to switch off/on the DRL...

I do not know. I have a 135i and not a 1M. Try turning the DRL's off and see what happens - and report back. Worse case, you can go back in the menu and turn the DRL's back on!

I can confirm that when the lights are set to the manual "off" position and the windshield washer's are activated ONLY the shield is cleaned leaving the bonnet/ headlights dry.

Thanks for the tips!

Yes, it does make for an extra step when driving and one has to be aware of it, but it is not the end of the world when it comes to manually controlling the spray of the jet's on ones' car.

I just checked my (US Spec) BSM and when the Halos/DRLs are off, so are the Eyebrows.

And for the windscreen, Merc came up with an alternative dubbed "Magic Vision Control".

"To Mercedes’ credit, the engineers in Stuttgart have tackled an issue that’s been completely overlooked by the competition. And maybe for good reason. But by removing the standard washer fluid nozzles off the hood and replacing them with dozens of pin-sized holes in the wiper blade, Magic Vision Control sprays less fluid on the windshield in more precise blasts. That ensures a cleaner clean, little to no overspray and not a drop of fluid entering the cabin when the top is down. Good stuff. But “Magic” it is not."

Using the AHL at night is a really great way to see around corners at night.

I think its also been mentioned before... that the headlight washers only come on when the headlights are on AND only for the first time. Then every fifth or six pull of the wiper arm washer. Not every time.

For you guys in Canada... can't you go into the BC menu and turn off your DRL's? Aren't your DRL's just running your halo's all the time? That is how its on my car. I have xeons and a 135i. A lot of the German guys code their ECE cars to US/Can DRL specs. lol

Dackel
Couldn't agree more. The adaptive headlights are awesome.
