N52 swap NEED HELP PLEASE
I have a 2009 128i with the n51 motor. Unfortunately my head cylinder had a Crack in it and it caused my motor to go out. Thankfully it is covered by my warranty. My question is if I wanted to replace my motor with the n52, is that possible. What is needed and has anyone done it?

You need the N51 engine to meet CARB emissions.

Not sure if that's really true: The 128i that I bought new here in SoCal has the N52 engine.

I actually ended up finding a really good deal on a n51 last night. Couldn't pass up the price especially cuz it only has 25,000 miles! Doing a straight swap no differences.

Just go with the N51, it already has the DISA intake manifold, and AA can get some nice power out of that motor.
