Installing BMW Performance Seats

For anyone who has installed the Performance Seats - is it plug and play for a US 1M? Or do I need a retrofit cable? I realize some coding will be required.

Second question - my car has every option EXCEPT heated seats. The Performance Seats have heating. Is there any shortcut to getting some form of switch in place to control the heating without having to put in the OEM heating controls?

Thanks!

Nope no chance for a shortcut switch als the seatheating control signal travels over a digital shape over somthing called LIN bus. The good news is if after you wired the seats you can replace your ac controls with a heated seats version (2 extra buttons) and you good to go, all OEM.

So I would have to use the retrofit wiring harness in order to get the heating to work?

Otherwise I can use the seats with airbags by simply plugging into the existing harness and coding?

Seats are in, coding still required. First impressions - the look amazing and feel even better. Highly recommend picking them up. Not cheap but should hold value well over time.

That looks great!

Maybe provide some info on it should any future forum member decide to do this?
