Rattle/tapping at 1800-2000 rpm
Hi guys
I'm new to 135i N55's so wanted to get some advice on some rattle i'm getting from my 2012 135i N55 completely stock with 35,000miles... The rattle sound only happens under light load between 1800-2000 rpm and stops after 2000 rpm or does not exist below around 1800 rpm... it's very subtle... this rattle sound is not noisy but definitely noticeable... bit concerned this will lead to something bigger... Any advice on what might be causing this rattle sound would be much appreciated. Just to add there is no change in performance when this sound occurs... engine performance is normal... just want to figure out if this sound is normal for N55 engines .. Thx

Does it do it at those RPMS while stopped and in neutral?
If not it is likely drivetrain. Manual or DCT...my guess is manual. If manual does it do it coasting if you put the clutch in? If DCT I got no idea....

Make a video for us interweb experts.
Could just be the normal sound of direct injectors. Or it could be the wastegate rattle - requiring new turbos. Could be the dual mass flywheel on a manual car rev'd in neutral too. Could be lots of things. Make a video for us.
