Rear subframe bushing tool experience?

I have 2 piece Whiteline rear subframe bushings. I have a quote for $400 from a shop but I would prefer to DIY. Found this tool and wanted to know if anyone else has used it for this and share their experience.

I have no experience with the tool but are you planning on dropping the whole subframe or gonna try to do it corner to corner while still up there? My gut tells me that the amount of time you’d spend trying to monkey around with it 2” from the bottom of the car it’d be worth considering dropping it onto a jack and deal with disconnecting the brake lines, diff and rear dampers.

$400 including pressing out the old bushings and installing new ones? That's a pretty damn good deal. I'd take it.

No Experience with that tool but I DIY'ed my two piece Whiteline Replacements. Used a large socket, heat from a torch, and the weight of the car to press out the old ones without removing the whole subframe or disconnecting brake lines. Gotta be careful not to melt anything important (ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor wires are kinda close), but it's doable.

Not sure if that tool you linked needs more or less room to function though.

HPA rents out a tool, or at least used to, which might be worth looking into. Probably similar in cost and a somewhat guarantee that it'll do the job.

Yea, I'd be trying to "lower without dropping" since it's the 2 piece.

I contacted them and they're done renting because they had 2 in circulation that were never returned. Thanks for the thought though!

Yeaaa. I'm sure it wouldn't be the worst thing but those reasons are what me think twice about doing it myself lol.
