Yes, it was quick.

Mine took 10mins only for the driver airbag recall.

Tried getting Trivett at Parramatta to book me in but I've been ignored (as expected) for most of the week. I work nearby so if I don't hear anything by Friday I will just go in and hassle them.

Mine was done last week. Loving the new horn cap with new roundel. I got them to fit my new cover while they had it apart. Looks as good as new again.

I also found BMW horn caps aren't really durable for city driving.

Finally got booked in for tomorrow. Is any coding done? Do we need to flash back to stock or can we leave MHD flash in place?

Just go to the BMW Australia website and put your details in there. Or call 1800 243675 and have your chassis # handy.

FWIW, my airbag was done on 13 July but, I received a letter today dated 20 July asking me to contact a dealer urgently to get it changed.

I haven't received anything but just checked my F20 and got this.
Reassuring.

Wow, I can't believe this thread was started in 2016.

Mine's booked in for changeover next Tuesday. Takes a couple of hours.

Worth putting your chassis number into the BMW recall page and seeing if there are any other recalls on your vehicle. For example, there were three pending recalls on my 1M . . .

Takata airbag
Battery terminal line
CV joint.

I'm getting all three addressed at BMW North Shore in four weeks time.

Plug-in contact of the battery cable to the front fuse box can become damaged due to vehicle vibrations and then impair power supply to vehicle. Recall is to replace plug-in contact with new version. Takes 1.5 hours.

"The rear driveshaft flexible disc [constant velocity joint] which transfers power between the transmission and the rear driveshaft . . . may not have been produced with sufficient strength . . . disc could break which would result in loss of propulsion."

Recall is to check index and part number on the disc and then if necessary replace it. "This repair may take several hours"

I done the battery cable recall couple of years ago at Canterbury BMW and it took most of the morning. Airbag recall was done yesterday at Macarthur BMW and was done in practically the same amount of time it took me to drink my free coffee.

Got my letter last week. Tried to book at BMW Artarmon and was given September 21st!. The battery cable is being included and they want my 2010 135i for half a day. I said I want a loan car, and they agreed.

Also confusion on their hotline over whether I had the "Alpha" version of the airbag and if so, why aren't they towing it to the workshop (as a number of my friends have). Apparently I have the "less dangerous" version :-)

Got it done at Melbourne BMW 1 week before I received the letter. I contacted them shortly after the recall on 1 series went live on their site.
They had the car for half a day, all done no dramas and have receipt with part number and recall details.
