I like them a lot. Unfortunately I've only driven on them 1-2 track days and my times were about equal to my MCS singles (which were dialed in). My turbos decided to blow yesterday on my 1st lap at Thunderhill with just ~900 miles and 6 track days on them. I've only been running at ~15psi which makes this even more surprising. Really weird as my last turbos ran fine for 50k miles of much harder abuse.

My shop said that BMW will warranty them if they are infact blown.

I'll have more feedback on the Fortunes in the next month or so.

How are temps holding up with the new setup?

Water and oil are spot on with the CSF radiator and dual 25 row oil coolers but my 12 row core tranny cooler isn't keeping up when ambient temps are above 100*.

On a positive note, I was able to blow away my PB at Buttonwillow with a 1:57. Was running 1:57s consistently until I blew a tranny line (fixed without losing much fluid thankfully). The line that blew was actually an OEM line that ran to the heat exchanger.

Nothing has changed with the car except my new Fortune Auto 510 coils with the same #400/#750 springs I had with my MCSs. I think I've found the shocks that I'll be running long term until I move to 2/3 way adjustable.

It may be partially due to the fact that my injectors were never coded correctly since I've owned the car (50k miles) - Thanks McKenna BMW... I'm loving the new ProTool app to code my car, seriously life changing.

I'd say that a CSF radiator (distilled water + water wetter) and dual 25 row oil cores should be sufficient for almost all N54 track cars. My oil cooler setup literally cost me $300 thanks to ebay oil coolers and quality fittings/lines from Summit racing.

They are monotube, correct. I don't know if I can positively say "best overall" but I'm super happy with them and they're only $2k with springs & camber plates. Which is insanely cheap even compared to my discounted MCS singles which are ~$3.2k once you add up springs and camber plates.

I'll post of my video from Buttonwillow and you can see how aggressively I was hopping curbs, the car was pretty well settled.

Best bang for buck IMO, I also like the Bilstein PSS10 with linear spring setup. Bulletproof monotube shocks with decent adjustability.

Sounds like it reaffirms my convictions about expensive suspension: as long the spring rates are close enough, and the shocks aren't blown, the car will go fast, whether it's a Koni or a Penske.

Agreed, with the GTA Driver discount my Fortunes 510s were like $1,200. They were faster out of the box than my MCSs which were dialed in and had plenty of track time. I don't think any of us here are fast enough to push high-end shocks to their limits. I'm sure part of this is also the fact that i coded my injectors properly.

Can't wait to get them dialed in and get more seat time now that my car is functioning properly and doesn't go into limp mode immediately.

I went from Koni to AST, and there is a very big difference. I wouldn't have noticed a few years ago, but the last couple of years, yes, huge difference.

Not saying Koni's are bad at all. Excellent shocks, but just not as capable.

That is awesome. Really looking into these for the Z3 endurance car. And, it looks like the 510's are up-gradable to remote reservoir and two way adjustability.

They are upgradeable but I'm not sure how cost effective that route is. I'm quite happy with them though

What kind of cruising temps are you seeing with the dual 25 cx's? I just did the same dual cores with the bimmerworld -10 adapter and stock thermostat. Gets up to 230 like stock, going to find out tomorrow how much higher it gets.

I do not but ajsmithvmi has some KWs for sale.

I think right around 200* with the stock t-stat, u don't pay much attention anymore as oil temps are never an issue anymore. When I street drive the car I do have a blockoff plate that covers the tranny cooler core as it over cools the ATF street driving/on the highway.

I moved to a 16 row ATF cooler which is AN10, I have a feeling that the AN8 lines on my old cooler were impeding flow and reducing cooling performance. This may also be the reason I blew one of the OEM tranny hoses (too much back pressure from the smaller ATF core = over-pressurized lines = blew a hole in the old OEM hose) as the OEM lines are right in between AN8 & AN10.

Car now runs all high temp summit racing AN10 steel braided hoses for ATF & Oil with pressure fittings at all locations. Pretty happy with the car right now.

Sorry, questions incoming:

Are you still running the MFactory LSD? How do you find it?
Do you still have the stock subframe or did you switch to M3 rear end?
Are you still using stock turbos? Any insight as to why they blew up?
Where did you purchase the seats? Do you have a link?

Love this car! Cheers

Gonna be flying a lot this coming month so I'll finally get some video posted up.

I've been street driving the car a lot recently.

Thanks man!! Mfactory is good for the price, may move to a clutch type in future.

Stock Subframe and diff etc and wheel hubs

Stock turbos are great so far, looks like an object made it's way into the rear turbo =(

Bimarco seats are from eBay, love them for the price. No different than my Sparcos and they're $300 shipped with side mounts. FIA certified too, also composite vs steel tube.

Any particular reason you would go for clutch type over helical? How do you find the diff ratio?

Also Bimarcos look really good for the money

Thanks for the reply!

A clutch type LSD will still function if a wheel completely loses traction (typically the inside wheel), whereas a helical will act like an open diff in the same situation.

Wheel specs:
18x9.5 et22 front & 18x9.5 et58 rear.
275/35/18 square tires.
