Too small? It's right smack down between the E36 and E46, and I never really thought those cars to be small.

MSRP on my 2003 330i with perf Package was $42.6 - if I can get a 135i to $40k with a few well chosen options, I'm still going to think it's a bargain, given the huge performance step-up compared to the 330i.

US MSRP of $40k translates into a ED price of around $35k.

I agree! It's going to be a huge bang for the buck! BMW could have decided to put lesser engines in the 1 coupe. Very surprising — and impressive — that it chose the 300-horse twin-turbo six! Good job, BMW!

The 135i will probably cannabalize, at least a bit, sales of the 3 coupe. It will be interesting to see which sells better, the 128i or 135i.

Maybe many VW GTI, Audi A3 shoppers will jump behind the wheel of a 128i.
