US N52s are referred as medium output because N52s come in different power outputs: 218hp - 230hp - 258/265hp - 272hp

Anyway you are right, 3 stage intake + tune is an excellent mod but catess headers + tune is a little bit better. That's what a local tuner showed me by letting me look at some dyno graph results. He got 264 hp at the crank on a 128i with supersprint exhaust and custom tune.
My 125i with tune is stuck at 260hp with stock exhaust (and in Europe we do not have secondary cats!).

You also get better quality fuel in Europe than we do in the U.S. In Europe both primary and secondary cats are less restrictive because there is no need to burn off excess sulfur in Europe.

car-part.com i got mine for 260 out the door from an X3 with 24k miles. I was lucky enough find it locally. Plus AA tune is around 400. Or you can new manifold for about 1100.
