128i Negotiating Info Required

Hey guys,

I think I finally succeeded in convincing my dad to get a new 128i.:biggrin:

We will be going to the stealership in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering how much can he negotiate below msrp. With the current situation I would expect to get a pretty great deal.

I don't know if this matters when it comes to negotiating, but he will be paying for the car in cash.

Make sure there are no excessive dealer fees. Some give you a great price off MSRP and then nickel and dime you back up with things like prep and excessive documentation fees. Good luck.

Good info in that thread. My girlfriend's dad did something similar recently when he got a new car and it worked out well.

When I got my GTI a few years back I did all my negotiating online. I went to edmunds.com and spec'd out the car I wanted then emailed it to a few dealerships. They responded with offers and I took the lowest and emailed it to the other dealerships to give them a chance to beat it. One did and that was that!
