Using MirrorTaps to hardwire a radar detector into the rear view mirror
Recently purchased a BlendMount and a set of mirror taps. Everything went well, got the taps to power the RD and the mount installed around the annoying clown nose. Only problem is that my RD will stay on indefinitely after the car is off. I'd like to find a way to have it turn off with the ignition, as I don't want this to give someone a reason to break in and steal the thing. There were only 3 wires I could tap into (I dont have an alarm system). Red wire was hot, brown w/ black stripe was ground. Any ideas as to how I can get this thing to not stay on all the time?

Mirror taps are a a bit different than a hardwire kit, they let you "tap" into a wire with a copper probe. Ended up finding a 12v wire that turns on with the ignition in the overhead lightbox console that worked.
