CSF Intercooler is NOT direct fit on 135i
Despite the advertising:
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...78&postcount=1 the CSF FMIC requires some serious cutting of the radiator support, and modification of the front undertray to fit. The intercooler will slide into place without trimming the support but the support pushes it too far aft by about an inch, so the attach studs do not line up with the lugs on the intercooler tanks. The entire lower part of the radiator support needs to be removed. Also, the outside air temperature probe needs to be relocated. I installed mine in a rubber grommet. Here the intercooler is fully mounted with the cut out piece held adjacent to where it once was, and you can clearly see why the radiator support needed modifying. The undertray requires some creative massaging also. Mine is non-standard to accomodate my splitter, so I haven't bothered with any pictures of that. Aside from the above, the part fits perfectly ... |

I had to cut the entire support out for my FMIC. No tears shed. May want to consider relocating the ambient temperature sensor.

CSF does make some remarks about trimming.
"One of the best attributes of the CSF intercooler is almost a direct fit installation on the E82 135i, 1M, and E90, E92, and E93 335i models. Only minor trimming of a plastic heat shield is required. The bumper does not have to be removed or modified and it fits with the stock intercooler connectors and hoses." |

Hey tried to send you a pm but your inbox is full
I'm definitely fine with cutting and the trimming required, but I had a couple questions about the belly pan. So I know you said you had a splitter that already required you to change up your belly pan. But I was wondering if you knew what sort of belly pan modifications you would have to make inorder to get the csf to fit? |
