1/4 Mile Run 2011 135 DCT.. Showroom stock.
So i went to the track this past Sunday since it was a really nice day and ran the 135i.
Car: 2011 BMW 135i DCT Mods: None (stock down to the paper filter) Tires: Original OEM Bridgestone Runflats. Miles: 6400 miles on the car. Temps- Between 62-65F Tire pressure: Rear Tires at 30 PSI Track: Island Dragway I got 5 runs. For all the runs i used Launch Control and shifted at 6k rpm from 2nd and on. The car ran pretty consistent all day. I ran a 13.1,13.2,13.2,13.3 and one 13.7. My best run of the day was 13.1@105.56.. 60' 2.026 330' 5.584 1/8 8.522 MPH 85.21 1000' 11.047 1/4 13.184 MPH 105.56 All in all i was happy with the runs but i felt the car has a lot more in it. Cooler temps and a lighter driver () and i think i can get it down to 13.0 and even 12s in a showroom stock car!!! I will try at Atco to see if i can get better times. This is for all the nay Sayers that say the DCT transmission sucks for drag racing. I don't see it

It's because you haven't added any power yet. Once you do it will suck real bad. Launch control will make you spin, launching yourself will make you spin even more.

wow, I'd say those are pretty nice numbers for a stock car with runflats. Island raceway, huh? I was there years ago in my import drag racing days. From what i remember, there wasn't much of a shut down area, even with a high 14sec car.

Second - I saw that in car and driver. I don't know about them but when i launch it by turning everything off and punching the gas the car lags then pretty much drops the clutch. That is how to a burn out on this car I find the only way to launch is using LC and hope for the best. I wish we were able to control what RPM we can launch at but it is what is. I am not sure what the DA was at that time but i am going to try to go to Atco soon which usually has the sickest DA of the whole country. I am not sure how the car will respond once its modded but for now the LC is pretty consistent with a stock car. I ran at two different tracks so far and i went back today and was running 13.2s and 13.3s all day besides for one bad run of 13.4. Let the modding being and we will see Edit - Actually found the conditions on that day. 550 ft above sea level Density Altitude: 1295 feet Relative Density: 96.27 %

It was fine.. I didn't let off until about 120 and had plenty of time to shut off.
