AIM Solo DL in a 1M

having played around with the AiM Solo my past 2 track days, i decided on buying the SOLO DL with the ecu harness (plug and play by M-World).
Richard @ M-World installed it, took under 30mins to install. I recently uninstalled it as i was demodding my car, and it was really easy.
The AiM software is pretty easy to use, got alot of baseline data at a few local tracks. I now know why i'm SLOW...hehe

The ecu harness allows me to capture alot of data, steering angle, brake pressure and wheel speed by each wheel, and many more...Its a good thing this unit will work on the e46M3.

Thanks Richard @ M-World for the Solo.

Did it just plug into the OBD2 port?

They have a version that plugs into the ODBII port.

However, it seems like Franklin wired it directly to the car. I did the same on my car. The Solo taps directly into the CAN bus with two wires connected under the glove compartment.

what int2str said...no cutting/splicing. Basically remove 2 connectors from a plug, plug in those 2 connectors to the supplied wire harness, and plug in 2 new connectors into plug.

I'm not sure what information the OBD2 port displays, but from what i heard it wasnt as many as the canbus.
