Has anyone resolved a a0c1 code before?

Hey guys, I am new to the forum and figured I should ask the community first before I spend any more money. I have a 2011 135i DCT that wont start and is giving me a code;

00a0c1 CAS: Engine Start, Starter operation

When you try and turn the vehicle on, it sounds like the starter wants to engage and you hear a humming noise for about 1-2 seconds and then nothing.

I tried replacing the fuel pump and the starter as I previously had a long 3-4 second crank. But after the car would not start, neither the new fuel pump or starter seemed to help the no start issue.

This is my first BMW and i've only had the car for a month so I am wondering if I may be missing something. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Could just be a dead battery.

I have a few more ideas but a bad power cable (they tend to fray near the jump post) would mean you wouldn't be able to even get the car to have any life, wouldn't be able to pull codes. Same goes for a corroded ground strap.

Fuel pump issue I think would throw a low fuel pressure type code.

I've trickle charged the battery to full and volts are good with no dips in the rear or front of the car. I'll check the cables / ground next.

Also, it turns out our 2011 dont have the low fuel pressure sensor up in the front so I take it we are still using N54 parts. It came in my kit and was not needed.

Any other ideas would be welcome, I am going to be working on the car again in a few days to see if I can figure it out.

Found the issue, looks like it was the same issue as BMWguy206 posted.

Tried wiggling it and the cable just came apart, re-crimped and the car fired right up.
