08' 135i Crimson Red Fresh Paint

The car was starting to show its age a wear so I decided to do a full respray. Big thanks to my good friend Paul for the exceptional work.

Sorry for the pic quality..

Have you thought of proper paint correction instead of full respray? I don't know what the hell you do to your car that it needs a full body respray in just eight years.

The car has quite a few miles on it (90K) and had the typical stone chips dents and scratches. There were two previous owners that didn't take the best care of the vehicle. I bought it with about 40k miles and it served as a daily driver for about 3 years until I bought another daily.

I've rubbed the car a few times and it did look very good but I'm picky. I'm well aware of what proper paint correction can do but it was beyond that. At some point before I owned the car it had been in an accident and over time the clear coat had some adhesion issues on the front fascia and hood. For the amount of issues that needed to be fixed, it was just as easy to do a full respray.

Oh okay, that makes sense; hope it turns out well... Now is time to put clear bra on it.

You read my mind. I'm planning on getting the fenders, hood, front fascia, sill cladding, mirrors and the front 6 inches of the roof done. I need to let the clear coat cure for about 3 months before I do it though.

That's really not that bad, and looks like they did a good job, though it's hard to tell when not in person

Thanks for sharing. I am considering a respray of the front bumper, fenders and hood.
My place quoted $2244. So you got a good price.

The price varies on the amount of labor involved to repair & refinish a body panel. And this shop does very good work. So, it's hard to tell if the price is high or not, without factoring in the labor needed.

This place just did my trunk. I had two bad scratches on it and they charged $825, but that included a third brake light I had them replace.
The finished product was perfect and you can't tell it is different paint then the rest of the car.

Way under $2000 ?? For refinishing/painting the hood, bumper and both fenders? I would not trust that shop, unless your talking about a friend doing it for that price.

I'd rather pay more and have a trusted shop that does perfect work. This isn't a Civic.

I'm not trying to battle you. I bet if you countered with $2k they'd grab ur hand. I've had work done too by good shops.

Not battling, just opinion because I am pretty serious about getting it done.
I love the car but it's an '08 with 155K on it. Good shape mechanically.
I appreciate you posting.
They gave me a detailed estimate and the front bumper is requiring the most labor. Like I said before the labor has a lot to do with the price.
And they just did my trunk and you can't tell it blends perfectly. Perfect repair. Maybe you pay more for better shops.
