Got a part number for those? I'd like to pick up an extra set. The p/n on the mat is 106480-11, which doesn't seem to correlate to the blue edges. Google hasn't been much help
The part number is 51-47-7-327-833 I ordered a set about two month ago. When I ordered them they said there were only 14 sets left in the world according to Germany. About a month ago someone ordered a part and said they got the last set. Not sure if they had made anymore since.

Thanks much - just placed an order with Tischer, they were $112 with shipping.
They showed them as available, let's hope their stock count was correct

Good luck, I'm sure they are still making them. I got mine for 102 shipped when I purchased my car.

Hey all - just reporting in after a track weekend with the 135is. I'll keep this brief and not get too far into narratives.

- Outside temps were +80 degrees and sunny, but the oil temps never tipped over 270 at the highest. I was impressed with this - no limp mode, not even the slightest hiccup.

- The tires (stock runflats) were good for about two laps, then they became FUN in that you could just slide around the track and feel the car. Slide, not drift.

- One press of DSC = traction control off, which was a big improvement. Hold button down = DSC OFF, which was a massive improvement.

- The rear end is "squishy," but I didn't find it unpredictable at all, especially considering the car just wanted to push and push and push, which, to be honest, isn't a problem on a new car that I don't want to crunch.

- One off-track excursion was in turn 7 (lightning at NJMP), tight left. I was passing so took an inside line, cooked it too hot, and opted to just go off with the wheels pointed straight versus trying to accomplish some heroic save and potentially go off sideways. Got some dust on the car but no more.

- Tires and brakes were limiting factors, but not to the point where it was dangerous. I'm a proponent of taking your stock car to the track to learn it. If I do this again (I will), it'll be with non-RF summer tires and hawk HP+ pads. Possibly the Ti shims, but I really didn't experience terrible brake fade. As I got more comfy with the car, was hitting + 135mph on the front straight, which is all I could manage after the light bulb and the limited grip after the left front tire was shot. Better drivers could easily get this car up to 140-145 on the front straight.

- My instructor LOVED this car. He was so impressed with how tossable, balanced, and well-mannered it was.

All in all, very fun weekend. Had a great first session on Sunday then packed up and left, knowing that the final sessions are typically when hell breaks loose. Plus, my next session was several hours after.

Looking to go back to lightning 10/13-14 with NJ Chapter.

One pic (I forgot to buy the good one the company there got of me - sorry for no on-track action):

Awesome!!! Thanks for reporting. Your post has me bouncing off the ceiling!!! The car looks absolutely beautiful and I loved reading about your track experience! I'm considering the BMWCCA event at Mid Ohio in September, but I don't think I'll have 1200 miles on the car by that time. Decisions, decisions...

Got the 1er on track for a quick stint as well. No issues here as well, the car was absolutely crying when I brought it in. Brakes could be smelled from a good distance.

Understeer, understeer, understeer, POWARRRR!!!, understeer, understeer, understeer. Amount of understeer was frustrating as hell especially since I wasn't up to hooning the car just to get some oversteer. Definitely needs wider meat up front. Suspension is mush, and the car is heavy. So a bit of wallowing into corners. Brakes were amazing for a lap or 2 before you must back off and let them cool. Better track pads are a must. Overall a great daily, but needs quit a bit of work for heavy track use. Still fun tho >:]

FYI, 135mph indicated is ~130mph per data I downloaded. Easily beatable if I wanted to work the front left harder, and could get better rotation.

Oh, and every nook and cranny of the tires are filled with klag. Need to get them clean out! = vi-bra-tions.

were you running the runflats? i'm guessing that's half your problem right there if you were!

Just so everyone knows Elwood is an instructor and therefore a _much_ better driver than I am! He is definitely more able to assess the weaknesses and strengths of a car than I am.

Damn right I was! Those things have a tread rating of 140! They were good for about 2 laps, then very fun after that. Not quick, but fun. There are no points for first place in HPDE!

Grip from the tires was fine. But with only 215 in the front, there's simply not enough contact patch to balance it all out. And while you might get more grip out of non-runflats, you end up with a softer suspension. Then the required change list gets very long.

I will say, the more I drive this thing that anyone replacing _just_ the front swaybar with the M variant is just plain nuts. Will improve turn in but add even more understeer.

Yea I don't get that, either.

Actually, the number one problem with the car on track, is I can't hear the exhaust with my helmet on.

Yes I noticed this, too. It surprised me considering how loud it seems on the street.

Found a Cashmere Silver 135is!

Well, I finally did it...I finally found a 135is in Cashmere Silver which nobody had ever really seen before. Even stranger - it has active steering on it, seemingly just as rare and I know you guys were adamantly and rightly opposed to and seems everyone's dealer told them not to touch that or get it either. So, in all it's glory, I present the only known pictures of a cashmere silver 135is...with active steering to boot.

I think it is, but don't want to say that cause I don't want to offend any cashmere silver IS owners. <looks around>

I'd kill to find good pics of a Titanium Silver coupe as that seems to be the only color we're missing from this thread now as we finally saw a vermillion red and cashmere silver now. I want to see that cause I had a 2008 135i in Titanium Silver and contemplated it for my IS, but think it ends up looking washed out and flat with the rims.

I guess cashmere silver sounds better than "gold" or "champagne." Sadly, I considered that color briefly in 2008 before ordering, since in the couple of promo pictures out there it looked more silver or a somewhat off-white/hint of yellow equivalent of blue water metallic, but was hard to find any info or pictures on it really.

There was a cashmere 1er at NJMP with us. It's a nice color, just not my choice. Looked good on track.

Don't remember which one of the 1ers it was (silver/cashmere), but one had an off coming out of the bowl right in front of us. Typically a very odd place to do that, but not that weekend!

Yes that was the cashmere 1er in the red group who went off there. I think people new to lightning and who are pointing people by tend to get caught out by the fact that the track goes away to the left there, unless he just went in too early to the apex of the bowl and tracked out to the grass.
