Wait sorry for the dumb question, but why can't the coding be done with the car running? When I had my car coded previously for the options the remote coder had the car running the entire time.

Coding and Flashing are 2 different things. The PPK mod is "flashing" so your car's DME software needs to be updated.

Not sure. They have different stuff in store than online. No I'm definitely gonna find a 10+ amp unit as having a "bricked" DME sounds no bueno, and I don't even know what bricked means, but I suspect it means your computer gets busted resulting in a tow to my nearest service center.

What battery charger did you use?

Just pick up a 10amp charger at Walmart and when you are done with it, take it back.

I'm sorry but I contacted your coder paid the fee, set up a time, and the guy flaked. I have all of the communications and I want to be done with you and your poorly run business.

We've refunded you in full.

As always there are 3 sides to every story.

As with any situation, human error and misunderstandings are inevitable.

We hope people are reasonable with their judgements. However we can only do so much with remote coding.

Joe is a great coder and your situation is not part of the majority of services he does.

If it becomes a habit we will take corrective action.

Not to downplay your situation but thank you for the feedback.

Of course, we apologize for any inconvenience.

We only provide this for 02/2012 and older N55s due newer models requiring a FSC from the dealer.

I would rather have it done locally. You guys wouldn't happen to be in the LA area?

Unfortunately we are not. However, the remote flash is simple and only requires minimum hardware on your part (Windows OS and a battery charger). If you don't have a KDCAN cable, we will mail a loaner.

If you can't find anyone local, let us know.

Joe did mine on 4/5 at night. He worked to fit me in when I requested this on short notice. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend TGS to anyone on this board. The PPK did exactly what I thought it would do.

I could only come up with a 6amp charger for this evening's PPK flash. How worried do I need to be about the battery issue? I've got a 2011 and the battery was replaced under warranty a few years ago and seems fresh and in good condition. When you guys connect the charger, do you advise using the charge terminal and a ground under the hood? What ground do y'all prefer under the hood? Cheers and thanks. My cable should be here this evening and I've got a date with Mr. Joe at 4:30.

I flashed my MHD with no charger .. Write took 38 minutes.. I turned headlight and radio off. Did fine. Shortly after finishing I got the battery light. Just drove it around the block and it's fine ! I have flashed 2x since then without battery tender/charger and it was no issues. That being said you are risking your battery dying and screwing your dme. My battery was fairly new and I knew it was strong and holding a charge

Recommend hooking up the charger the night before or a few hours before, and then just leave it connected. Fully charged is better than low. Just sayn.

Got mine done tonight. Joe was super helpful and answered all my questions and put up with my shitty wifi. Anyway, feels great and love the burbles. There are plenty of reviews out there on PPK, so you're a non-computer person like me, the price was easily worth it, for me.

Fantastic! So, the 6 amp charger was satisfactory? Good to know. One more question if you know: Did you run a speedtest on your WiFi connection in the garage? Im only getting about 10-12 Mbps in the garage, and have been wondering if that is satisfactory for the process to work well.

thanks, and Congrats!

Yeah charger was fine. I hooked it up a few hours before the appointment like was suggested. My really slow computer didn't take too long to flash. Maybe 20 minutes so the battery charger thing is probably a really conservative safety net.
My wifi was around 16mbps too. So do it!
