AA vs SS headers

$600 price difference... From most posts, SS has really good fitment, drone, and performance, but is it worth that extra 600? That may be subjective, but so can the rumble coming out of it.. so looking for opinions

IF i get the AA and save that 600, I would get SS mid resonator delete mids.. if I get SS headers then I won't do mid pipes..

Would that be too loud? Currently only have afe intake & 135i muffler on my 128i vert

In theory, the SS headers equal length primaries could lead to more broad of a powercurve, but again, we don't have enough information to compare.

In theory, SS headers could sound different too. Not enough data to compare.

Headers and secondaries deleted technically are supposed to be more powerful than headers alone.

There's nothing wrong with AA headers...the fit is perfect and the sound is a balance between mean and expensive...whether SS or AA, the big improvement is the ugly pre-cats are gone, and you're still clean in 49 states.

My advice; don't take the resonator out, try it first, without the pre-cats it's loud...I'm running a stainless Borla muffler (straight-thru) that I got on Summit for 90 bucks...it's much lighter by far than the stock muffler, and the sound is wicked but never annoying...

One thing I will say about the AA headers, and this is something that is true of headers in general, so probably applies to the SS headers even though I haven't heard anyone mention it: valvetrain noise is definitely increased. My car sounds like a damn sewing machine now. Generally the noise is drowned out by the exhaust note, but if I'm driving regular residential speeds with my windows down and I pass anything that will reflect noise back at me (mailboxes, or Jersey barriers in the city) the ticking is very noticeable.
