Convertibles in the fall

Took my Spitfire out to my Mom's place to store it for the winter - friend of mine will be using one of my garage bays to work on his Saab this winter. Was a nice day so a friend followed me in my 128i. Had to take a couple pictures, this will probably be the last time these two cars are in the same state, as the 128i and I are headed to Florida Tuesday, where it will live permanently at my winter place. I'll sure miss driving it in Maine though - might have to find another one to keep up here!

Really shows how small Spitfires are!

Nice. I make a point of putting the top down on mine at least once each month but falls are special.

All those old English sports cars were small

They had to be to get decent performance from their incredibly small HP engines.

Mine has about 80hp. 1350cc high-compression small-bearing motor with dual carbs, fast road cam, and headers. Goes quite nicely. Stock '74 1500 had ~60hp.

97f today where I live in SoCal. I'm dying for fall. It's my favorite time of the year. Crisp, cool air. Leaves changing color and falling off the trees. Not here. At least not now. October's gonna be over soon and it's still summer here. Supposed to be cooler next week. Let's see if it is and if it lasts.

Tired of the heat! AAUGH!!

Love our winters here but not the summers. Guess you can't have it all.

We warmed up a little in SC but highs are only in the low 80s and nights go down to low 60s. A little above normal. I haven't turned the heat on but use the fire place to take the chill off in the morning (it's a sealed combustion propane powered unit with a blower and thermostat).
