BMW Performance Power Kit

BMW will release a performance kit.
326HP and 430Nm.

heres the text (german)

Quote:
BMW
Medieninformation

Seite 73
BMW Performance Power Kit: Vorstoß in eine neue Leistungsregion.
Das Maximum nochmals steigern, Grenzbereiche neu defi nieren – diesen
Herausforderungen haben sich die Entwickler des BMW Performance Power
Kit erfolgreich gestellt. Das Ergebnis ist eine Leistungssteigerung für den
Reihensechszylinder-Motor der Modelle BMW 135i Coupé, BMW 135i Cabrio,
BMW 335i Limousine, BMW 335i Touring, BMW 335i Coupé und BMW 335i
Cabrio.

Fahrzeug in Serienausführung. Der Tempozuwachs von 80 auf 120 km/h
erfolgt sogar um 0,5 Sekunden schneller als beim Serienmodell.

BMW performance power kit: Raid into a new achievement region. , Frontiers increase the maximum again defi kidneys - these Challenges have themselves the developers BMW performance power Kit successfully posed. The result is an increase in output for the row six cylinder number of the models BMW 135i Coupé, BMW 135i Cabrio, BMW 335i sedan, BMW 335i Touring, BMW 335i Coupé and BMW 335i Cabrio. With these models BMW performance power kit causes one Rise of engine performance around 15 kW/20 HP to 240 kW/326 HP. Likewise the maximum torque of the six-cylinder rises on up to 450 Newtonmeters. Most important result of this force increase is one for the driver clearly noticeable optimization of acceleration and elasticity values with all models. With the drive unit, for which BMW performance power kit was developed, it acts around the highest performance six cylinder in the Motorenportfolio of BMW. The engine, that in the Topmodellen BMW 3er and BMW 1er row to the employment comes, is with a twin turbo Aufl adesystem and gasoline direct injection High Precision Injection equipped. It reaches a maximum output of 225 kW/306 HP and a maximum torque in its Serienkonfi guration for BMW 3er and BMW 1er row of 400 Newtonmeters. With BMW performance power kit pushes these Topmotorisierung now into a new achievement region forwards. BMW performance power kit consists of software and hardware components, in their function mode are perfectly one on the other co-ordinated. They became particularly for the large row six cylinder engine develops 3.0 litres. Purposeful Modifi cations within the range of the motor control affects the achievement development positively. An additional outsourced Wasserkühler and the appropriate air circulations as well as a particularly high performance exhaust for the main water radiator make the adjustment possible to those changed thermal conditions. Apart from the uniform increase of the maximum output on 240 kW/326 HP causes BMW performance power kit the increase of the maximum Torque on 430 Newtonmeters with handswitched vehicles and/or 450 Newtonmeters when equipment with an automatic transmission. With the models BMW 335i Coupé and BMW 335i Cabrio can BMW performance power kit also with the seven-course sport AUTOMATIC with double clutch to be combined. In all cases the driver notices a clear plus at dynamics, which are confirmed also by measured values leaves. Thus for example BMW 335i with BMW performance accelerates Power kit in 5.4 seconds from the conditions on 100 km/h. Standard-keeps in track BMW Medium information 3/2009 Page 74 can be completed thereby around 0.2 seconds faster than with one Vehicle in standard type. The increase in speed of 80 to 120 km/h taken place even around 0.5 seconds faster than with the standard model.

I really hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for 15PS and 50NM , I mean they have to look at what tuners are doing and how much they are pricing these stuff. I wonder if you will make more if you have the BMW Pref Exhaust and this power kit

7-speed DCT? 326HP?
is this post about a "kit" really a software mod?
aren't they talking about the next release of the N54 engine? Why would they only increase the power by 26 HP??

I thought I read some time ago that the N54 successor will have 326 HP.

The version in the new 7er has 326 if I'm not mistaken. The 7-Speed DTC is only available in the 335i I think. But how can a 25PS increase and 50NM(for auto) give a better 0-100 time by 0.2 sec? is it possible?

If i'm not mistaken, some tests have shown our engines to bring an actual Crank Horsepower of 332, as opposed to the stated 300. If its true, I don't know, but it actually makes sense.

If its out soon I will get it. 20 hp is exactly what i want and it will complement my almost full Performance edition of my car. It is covered under warranty and thats a big deal for me especially if I have BMW service inclusive.
Not that it is important but those 20hp is exactly what i need to beat my friends porsche cayman s

They will probably charge around a grand for 26bhp, I'll stick with a piggyback that makes 3x the hp and cost 1/3 of the price.

Unless the 135/335 have the most efficient trannies ever constructed (by FAR) the engine is already making damn near that.
Multiple independent dynos have shown 275rwhp which is just about 320bhp.
So this seems like shenanigans or they're really giving us 6 hp.

If this is the factory tune we've been hearing about, I'm thoroughly disappointed. It basically assures that Ill be getting a JB eventually.

PS: I'm really surprised how often you still see people who own 135s and 335s on this (and others) forum that still talk as if the N54 really only makes 300hp.

Seems like a good concept imo. Deliver something to the enthusiast crowd that was rumored to exist already (magazines getting juiced 135s for their testing). Cost to BMW = 0. All profit. And it appears they have gotten it painfully wrong. Rivals the stupidity of ford putting a solid rear axle on the mustang.

That's a waste of time.

If bmw wants more of my money.. they need to offer a performance catalog limited slip differential for the 135i.

This is ridiculous, ludicrous, comical, hillarious, laughable, nonsensical, preposterous, absurd, idiotic, and an absolute, complete, utter, total and infrangible JOKE. 0.5 seconds? 326bhp? (probably @ $1000 per 1bhp). Good day, BMW. If this is the long-awaited factory performance upgrade..you stink.

1. BMW should come up with a real sports car: a 1 series, 3.0ltr. and 6 flat in line (NO TURBO shit) but just the Atmo with 325 bhp, - 125kg and you have the winner.

2. Good powerupgrade of BMW, even with those hardware modifications as well. As we all know the standard 135i gives a lot more than the 306bhp (330/335bhp peaks have been meassured). Then we - ofcourse(!) - can conclude that the unofficial BMW powerupgrade will be a lot more then 325bhp. I predict that the car will deliver easily 350/355bhp. That being said, it is the same (performancewise) a kind of stage 1 version of a lot of piggybag software going around, but than fully BMW approved. And, I bet you, it will drive a lot smoother (less turbo lag, crispy throttle respons, etc.) than a lot of piggybags with pumped up Psi's. So I would really recommend this powerupgrade.

Have fun!

This is rediculous. If they think they are going to compete in this market, they should have offered a real product. Maybe they are going to release stages, and this is just stage 1? stage 2 is upgraded downpipes? Software again?

If BMW could add 60 - 80 more hp in a factory tune, then I'd ignore all of the other tuners... but 20?

It is amazing to me how many are evaluating this with no facts whatsoever. Don't know the price, but ass-u-me it will be outrageous. Don't know the performance, but ass-u-me it will be poor. Don't know much of anything, but more than willing to spout off. How about waiting for a few facts before judging. Really makes you wonder about other opinions expressed here. Prejudice is the act of prejudging.

rcracer_tx got it right!
EDIT: rcracer_tx removed his post above with a cute lil' baby saying "This Thread Sucks" (Guess he was afraid he might hurt somebody's fragile feelings?) so now this makes no sense. But he did have it right at one time.
EDIT 2: Apologies to rcracer_tx, evidently the mods found a photo of a baby to be far too controversial for this forum. Or maybe it was use of the term "s*cks"? After all Grandma may be watching!
