Introduction
Hello 1addicts!
My name is Stan and I thought I'd just formally say hi to the Australian chapter of the forum I'm bound to frequent very soon. I'm still awaiting the arrival of my 2011 135i, but have been doing a lot of reading since April/May when I signed on the dotted line. I look forward to getting the car, making a few 'small' changes, and getting out and about with the Sydney BMW crew * I highlight 'small' because I definitely have no intentions (and someone kill me if I do) of having it turn out like my last car (500hp Nissan R34 Skyline) - you can find the specs of that project by clicking here. So that's it - look forward to getting to know you all! Cheers, Stan

Welcome Stan!
The big will bite you. Just ask Jeef Beef. His car was 'meant' to stay stock. Would be great to get you along to one of our coffee/cruise nights when you get you new girl! Cheers, Alex |

I have heard great things about the 135i - especially the number of ponies BMW held back

Welcome aboard Stan. When I purchased my 135i I had no intention of doing anything to it, now my little baby has Full Bolt Ons and running meth.
I use to have a R32 GTR that put down 322rwkw and that was awesome then I moved to an 06 STI and that was fun also but this 135 has power and a little class. I'll tell you now Stan and I guarantee you'll have another crazy car very soon just like your GTR. |

You lot are terrible... this is like going to an AA party hosted by Johnny Walker himself!
I think to start with, it'll only be some aesthetics (something I've never focused on) as the 135i is a bit lacking out of the box - those carbon mirrors and the carbon wing. New wheels w/ perfect offset, or re-coloured stock units with spacers. Car will be Alpine White w/ the Coral Red interior (love it or hate it, it's on a boat now)... Power-wise, I'll see what the stock unit is like, I was really really impressed during the test drive (weekend test drive, so was about to give it some stick) - so we'll see. Having literally poured money into a car before, I am hesitant to go down the usual path (intakes > exhausts > ecus > cams > blah blah > rebuild) - I've come to the conclusion that it's going to be more economical to just set an end goal, and go straight for it (i.e. if it's 1000hp, then start with a rebuild not intakes) Another thing - whilst the AUD is strong, I do get the feeling that BMW parts are at least 2 or 3 times the price of their JDM equivalents. This might make me think twice before jumping into the deep end too quuickly (getting married next year). That said though, first things on the list: - Alpine White kidney grille replacements - Carbon Mirrors (OEM / Aftermarket) - Carbon Spoiler (OEM / Aftermarket) - Window tinting Any recommendations on items 1 and 4?

$300???
Still yet to do my due diligence on management options, though I do like the sound of the COBB system. Don't know what you're implying, but the F-Con V Pro is one of the best ECUs available on the market, in the same league with Motec & Autronic.
