My 128i doesn't have Angel Eyes, what are my lights called?

I just purchased a '11 128i Coupe (I'm in the US) and realized that it doesn't have angel eye headlamps.
As I want to know my car better, what would my headlights be called? Standard, HID, Xeons, Adaptive?
I can google and find inexpensive headlight conversions, but I'm also reading that the conversion is labor intensive and nearly impossible. I can't parse if I should consider an upgrade as a weekend project, or is it so difficult I shouldn't even consider it?

Run your VIN # through a VIN decoder and it will tell you. I have a 2011, and it came with Standard Halogen lights. I bought a complete set of Depo's V2 off of Fleabay from seller FishCakes for less than $400. Wait until they have a 10%-15% coupon like I did and get them even cheaper.

Look in the 128I threads, and you will see my install. It just involved removing the front bumper and changing the lights.

This car has the easiest bumper I have ever taken off. It took me maybe 2 hours to install them taking my time.

I have pics of what they look like in my thread.

The only references to lighting in my VIN is
S563A Light package
S520A Fog lights

Thanks for the guidance about the lightning update you did.

My buddy who used to work for a BMW service center is going to install HID's on mine. I also have halogens. From my understanding, converting to angel eyes would cost alot of money, time, and disassembly. With the HID conversion, it's plug-n-play.

I converted my Halogens to Angel Eyes for less than $400 and 2 hours of time. It has plenty of light for me.

You get the entire headlight with clear corners already assembled. I also got the ones with the black buckets.

Maybe someone else will chime in, but I think that Light Package code is for Ambient Lighting only. Xenons have S522A listed under the VIN # if I remember correctly.

I have Halogens and Fog Lights. Bought the Depo's which are a complete assembly. There are plenty of DIY's for installing these.

Very simple!

Have a look in the Cosmetic section. I have a thread in there with pictures. I don't have any pics loaded on my computer at the moment, or I would post them up.

In that thread...I loaded them straight from my phone and I left my phone at home today...not that I'm complaining!

HIDs in a non projector housing is awful and really bad for oncoming traffic. You'd need proper projector retrofit to really utilize HIDs to their potential safely. You can get much better than stock bulbs and not be a total knob on the road

People with HID's in reflector housings are the lowest form of human beings known to exist. The only people I'd put lower than that are murderers, rapists, and people/animal abusers (and other scummy scum sacks).

Rush1 Just buy the damned projector housing and enjoy proper, safe-for-you-AND-other-people light projection. Don't be that guy. I hate those guys.

Actually your comment isn't harsh enough. HID in reflector housing no designed for it are dangerous & intentional disregard for others safety on the road.
