Is there a difference between the 3rd brake light
On the 135i and the 1m
I thought there was, but checked part numbers to find out its the same. Some one clarify. |

When I first got my car (and on the 2008 models), the third brake light was an upmarket, neat looking one-piece LED light bar. I had the third brake light crack and then replaced under warranty (twice) and the new piece looks like shit comparatively. It looks like cheap, multiple, individual LEDs when it lights up instead of a clean, one piece light bar. Not sure if BMW went with a cheaper supplier for the light since they were being replaced so often under warranty, but it seems Year 1 cars were the only ones to get the light bar brake light. If you've had the light replaced under warranty, you probably have the newer one.
My tangent aside, to answer your question: those few people who still have their original 2008 third brake light may have a different one than what comes on the 1M. Otherwise, it's the same part. |
