Hey y'all. I was thinking of trading in my Alfa Romeo GT 2.0 for a e90 (more pracktical and my Alfa dealer is closing in my city.)

Now I live in Switzerland and the speed Nazis here are merciless (40km over and it's jail time). I also live in a heavily build up area and almost never go on the highway.

I was thinking of saving some cash for a Ducati and getting a 320 (Black/Lemon, manual, Xenons, S/P).

Now, I used to drive a E46 ///M3 and I love bmw 6 cylinders. So....
How good is the 2.0 4 cylinder? would I really miss the 2,5? The price difference is about 6.5K US here.

Its a big difference in power, especially if you are driving with a couple people in the car

I usually don't. It's just that I rarely even stretch the alfa. 90% of the time I am in 50km max zone, bumper to bumper. I dunno. But I really like the I-6 engines.

Yeah you can feel the 320 lacks power. But I still find it an enjoyable drive. The 6 cylinder engine will obviously give you that much more of a thrill.

Haven't driven either....but what I've read is that the 320 engine is a peach and many people would make a bet that it was a "6"......so, the refinement seems to be there, even if the power isn't...

I drive a 320 and it is sweet.But I rather go for the 6 cylinder because it has the power and 6 cylinder is always a 6 cylinder.

the six cylinder is obviously better than the 4 cylinder but the question is is it worth the extra 6500$.
if you want to spend something in between the two and have much more torque and bhp and definately more punch and even better fuel consumption go for the 320d

That’s unfortunate. The diesel is by far the better option between the 4-pots.

The 320d is almost the same price as the 325i so it's pretty stupid to get it.

I just picked my 320i for 2 weeks. Yes, refinement is here and engine sounds much better than my old BMW 4 cyclinders (I used 318i previously). Power is just sufficient if compared to 325i (I tested drive both 325i & 320i before placing the order), but more than good enough to be used in a city like Hong Kong. Fuel comsumption and finance are my considerations.

If I have not considered these factors, 6 cyclinders is my preference. I really love its sound and power!!

Me too. No regrets....320i is already a lovely car in terms of handling and control and I have got a speeding ticket with her last week...:<(
So I will say it still performs well if you work more on the +/- steptronic...of course 320i/325i is not an apple to apple comparsion. But I will say 320i outperforms nearly all 2.0 NA sedan in the market (turbo charged like Audi 2.0T is another story). It is a well balanced car (not the fastest but the most optimised in every driving aspect).

I got my 320i 2 weeks ago as well, but I'd say you'll be satisfied. Here in Korea you have to pay about $13000 more for the 325 (comparing 320i without i-drive and 325i which only comes with i-drive non-sport) and it's definitely not worth extra money if you don't go over 100km that often. The drive is smooth and the breaking is awesome.
Unfortunately 320d is not available in korea due to strict laws on diesel machines.

I am getting a manual, so it should help a little. As I said the highest allowed speed in my area is 80km. Do 100 and it's a 500$ ticket. Dang.
