"Stickers had been applied in the past, but not on every car due to variation in execution between techs. The stickers are not technically part of the 'is' specification, installation techs find them in the kit, however they aren't mentioned anywhere on the spec, but they look like a placard that should be installed somewhere... so some techs were applying them to engine compartments, doorjambs, etc."

Seems like a reasonable explanation, although I would be happy to obtain and apply a PPK sticker if they were available (or at least add it to the documentation that came with my car).
My IS was missing the stickers, so I had my dealer order them about 4 weeks ago. They were shipped from Germany, so it took a while to get them. I picked them today.

Now, where do I put them?

Since you helped me, I will help you now! Unfortunately mb135is's pics aren't working as he recently put all the language ones on, but generally the white stickers that come in various languages go on the underside of the hood.

Here's where mine is:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=689

Here's where 3002 tii's is:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=184

Sometimes they get put other places as well. This person's white papery one was also put on his doorjam and you can see where all his stickers are in this:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=11

Some put the black one on the air cleaner, too.

I only have the large white sticker on the underside of my hood, but I like either where 3002 tii's is as it looks nice and clean and lined up or the one in the previous link.

Most of us only got the white multi-language sticker, others just got bags with the black sticker. It's a real crapshoot.

Thanks for the links and photos! I appreciate it. I'd love to see more pics from members showing where their stickers/badges are located.

I agree - I like where 3002 Tii put the white sticker. I might put both the German and English stickers under the hood.

This thread has a couple other pics and discussions:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=856535

And mb135is put up a bunch of pics as he got the same package as you with stickers at the bottom of the page, but alas, his pics aren't working right now. I think his are mostly just every various language sticker somewhere on the car.

Found this photo online. It's not a 1 series, but I like where the PPK badge is located. Front and center. One of the first things you see when you open the hood. I'm going to do something like this:

I agree. That's the optimal place to put it, though only 1 or 2 IS people actually got those stickers sadly. I asked my dealer for once and he said it wasn't necessary and that there was no risk of it ever getting deleted from my software as they can't do that basically as I showed him bp-plickner's packet of stickers and goodies.

PPK Sticker Part Numbers

FYI. The PPK badge was $56 from the dealer. Yep, $56 for that badge. Here's the part numbers:

01-29-2-160-475 ($.49)
01-29-2-160-476 ($.49)
51-14-2-160-474 ($56.26)

But now that we know the part numbers, you can probably find them online for cheaper. ECS Tuning's website says they carry these parts, but there's no photos. The best part is that ESC shows the PPK badge as only $28.60. Obviously if I had known this, I wouldn't have gone thru my dealer. My loss is your gain

Here is my PPK placard. Placement is on the air filter box and it appears to look different then yours.

That's weird. At first I didn't even notice the subtle difference, then I saw it says M Performance instead. They probably just used the newer stickers as that's what they're calling the PPKs now on the 3 and 4 series, though those PPK's also get a fancy engine cover that says M Performance on it.

I would love to have the M Power sticker under the bonnet… I may think about ordering a few. The more I think about it, the more I would feel better to have the placards. I'll try ESC. Thanks for the tip!

I just checked and tischer (getbmwparts) has them for probably the same $25.90 price. As many people on here can attest, I whined quite a bit back in the day wanting those stickers, but man, is it worth $26 to me. Hmm. Tough call. It's the shipping that will kill you, since it should cost 50 cents, but I bet it doesn't. Perhaps if and when I order some fun parts in a few weeks I'll throw a badge in with the order. I can't believe that lil thing has a part #!

I had to come back and edit this - ECS's website shows it's $14.19 to ship the badge to me. Perhaps I'll wait til I place an order for something expensive so it just goes in with. Perhaps if I do that, we can try to get a bunch of badges at once since I think they have to come from germany and will take several weeks, and then I can just mail them out from work for free in lil padded envelopes.

Yes, thanks again for those part #s as all us OCD people may now finally order them.

Bama - you named your car Ingrid? hehe. Mine is Isabelle, aka Izzy. Kinda sounded German, wanted an Is name, and it means "god's gift."

And Chunner - I guess now you can say you have a true M car...and the sticker to prove it. Hmm...maybe I want THAT sticker!

Yep, it was a family tradition growing up, dad's cars always had names, and always female - he maintained that they were temperamental, just like a....well, let's just I'll leave it at that for this discussion :P

My favorite of his was Yetta, a 1972 AMC Ambassador - as in "yet another thing wrong with this miserable POS". On the bright side, it had a 360 V8 with about a 70F/30R weight distribution and was a blast in the snow.

As for my German cars, I've had Greta ('07 E90), Sabina ('09 E90), Lucille ('12 E88), Gisella ('13 F30) and now Ingrid

Ok. So I spent all that time waiting for my PPK badge to arrive, and then Chunner had to go and ruin it for me by showing us the "M Performance" badge that came on his IS

I see that BMWPartSupply.com has the "M" badge for $26. And esctuning.com says they have it for $28.60.

I like Chunner's badge better than the one that I ordered. Might have to go with that one now.

Nice, my IS didn't come with the badge under the hood either. I ended up finding the same "M Performance" on eBay for $15 shipped and had it at my door in about 4 days. I placed mine on the engine cover right above the oil cap in the indented part of cover nice and straight. I too was going to put it on the air box filter cover but figured if I were to ever get a CAI it would be wasted. Have had it on for 5 months now and no issues at all, the thing is basically glued down.

I'm still using my current sticker until I figure out if I want to buy one of the more official ones. Here's an oldie, but goodie picture.

Thanks guys! Can we get this in a table with the color, transmission, and interior columns like previously so we can see how many of each combo there are?

I've seen this list, there seem to be a series of vin numbers missing.
We have a 2013 135is Convert. Our vin starts at VM2. I don't see a single VM2 on the list.
Every VM number on the list starts at VM1. Unless I'm missing something?
