Blacklines vs the Po-Po
I know every state has their own laws regarding tint on the tails. It seems to be a grey area here in Georgia. Has anyone that has Blacklines run into a problem with the police? If so where?

They are an OEM product so you will be fine. And like Adam said, they really arent that dark.

I had my tails tinted for a while here in Florida and I know it's technically illegal but I was never stopped for it. Anyways I have blacklines now and I am a lot less worried about being pulled over for it. You should have no issue with the blacklines.

They're alot like the new VW tailights regarding the shade. It's very subtle but you definately notice them being darker. Got mine since last summer and never had an issue here in Canada.

I was pulled over for "excessive noise" and given a warning for my exhaust setup. Told him it's the BMW performance exhaust from the factory lol. Just say it's OEM, they can't tell the difference and most likely drop the topic if you get pulled over

Live in Boston, have had the blackline tails for three months and no issues. Considering I see people driving around cars with completely blacked out aftermarket tail lights, I'm not too worried. As others have noted, other manufacturers like VW seem to be use comparably tinted tail lights as OEM.

I'm in NY and have had zero problems with them. They're really not dark at all compared to what some stupid people do tinting-wise. They're very bright when lit up too, it's easy to tell when your on the brakes and when your off.
in other words, get them! they looks amazing and change the whole rear end of the car.

Im from Stony Brook. Went to school in Atlanta. Moved back after school and set up a practice in Port Jeff. Couldn't deal with the winters and high taxes anymore. Needless to say they do things a little differently down here...that was the reason for my concern.
I'm gonna order them today! |
