Bluetooth Compatibility
Any experiences with Bluetooth phones not specifically listed on the compatibility page at bmw.com?
Looking to switch out our Verizon phone when the car shows up, and wondering if anyone has any tips on a good smartphone model that works well with Bluetooth/Assist? e.g., the Samsung Omnia, or Blackberry models... What kind of performance losses have any of you noticed with unlisted Bluetooth phones?

Ditch Verizon and buy an iPhone. Not only does it work swimmingly with BMW's, but it's easily the best smartphone on the market....leaps and bounds.

That's still pretty subjective about the iPhone if you are using it for business. It's not there yet compared to Blackberrys and Nokia's. I have a Nokia e71 and it works great in the car.

Mine works fine with the Verizon BlackBerry Storm. It's the first car where I could actually download my phone book, and it did it automatically as part of the pairing process, and instantaneously. Impressive.

Just make sure the Bluetooth version is 2.0 and not 1.2, which is SHOULD be for most smart phones. You will not be able to scroll through your contacts or use the full Bluetooth capabilities.
