Does anyone have a photo of the front brake wear sensor properly installed? Also like OP request are there specified torque for the hex bolts on the caliper.

Great DYI.

Good vid... Never did pad change on 135i but looks like much easier on brembo calipers.

Thanks

Sorry about bringing this thread back from the dead, but... I replaced the pads on my '11 E88 135i Saturday, 5-15. The brakes certainly did their job well, but the dust was horrible! The car has 58+k miles, and the pads still had many miles to go before replacement, wear wise.
I have experience with PowerStop pads, so I bought their Z23 pads and dove in to the replacement. This video was great help, and yes, provided some chuckles.

1. I wish he had stated why the 2 "outside" screws needed to be "loosened", and that the 2 "inner" screws should be loosened also. Having done more than a few brake jobs, I figured it out; IF not loosening the "inner" screws, install the "inner" pad 1st, then the "outside".
2. He didn't replace the spring, which was a bit of a pain to remove the old AND install the new...got it done with some perseverance.

Other than those 2 points, the video was extremely helpful...well done!!

Glad you found the video useful. At this point, I don't loosen those screws at all. Just remove the caliper, pull out the pads, and then push them in at an angle. You can use the pad to compress the spring and then slot them in. Takes some tries to get it, but once you do it a lot, it gets easier.
