FOR BELGIAN MARKET: 45 pieces -> 161 pieces

Dear (Belgian) Colleagues,

during the motorshow in Brussels I have had a conversation with the Product Manager of BMW BELUX with the following question:

When I ordered my car, BMW talked about 45 pieces of the BMW 1M for the BELGIAN market.
I bought this car as an investment for my company (and myself ;-) )
Normally I preferred to have a black version, but this wasn't possible at that time. The car that was available was an annulated order and white!! (ok no problem, I have the 45th car so be it)

OK, no problem...

Now I asked the Product manager himself how many cars will be produced for Belgium, because they have changed there minds...

I received a letter with the following explanation:

"Due to the large demand, we decided to extend the production till June 2013 and we estimate to finish at the number of 161 instead of 45...."

Where is my exclusive investment?
If you offer a LIMITED car, I assume that the demand will always be huge...

I feel like being fucked from behind.

What do you guys think about this???

It is a typo, there has been other threads about this. The production is prolonged till June/July 2012, not 2013. The dealers out of the NA market are not able to take any new car orders after May of 2012, this has been reported well enough. It would be good if Soulchi goes back and asks a confirmation for the 2012/2013, this should clear it up.

mean june 2012 sorry.

Just would express my feelings that I bought one of the 45 cars and not one of the 161 cars...

If there are 45 cars I'd love to pay 60.000€ for this car. If I knew they would produce more afterwards (161) 60.000€ is too much...

Sorry to hear.

The hard truth: never trust strangers, on anything they're not willing to put in writing. In this case the product greatly outshines the clusterf&ck of the marketing campaigns and allocation practices: all BMW staff involved will be rewarded regarless.

I have never bought a new car as an investment. It will hardly succeed.

I also don t care how manny 1M they make. Everytime i start my 1M and drive off i really really enjoy every mile. I never think about how much money can i make of it. You buy ///M cars to drive them ---> (max attack) lol

I have the same opinion like Advevo!

I bought my 1M, because i love Turbo-BMW-s and for me it's only the fun to drive it! From time to time i take the car, and drive it for 3-4 hours through my small country!
Not as investment, but i will keep the 1M,(when i get the new M3 in 2015);-) as 'youngtimer' for the future, and i will never sell it!!

Sorry to learn that you feel backfired. However, BMW ain't no charity institution. It's just the dynamics of economics: 1M demand went bananas, so BMW increased its production to generate extra cash, as long as the 1M production is still feasible at the Leipzig plant.

41, 45, 75, 161 or 214 1Ms for Belgium ? Honestly, I lost track. We will know the final figures later this year. Got 50 identified so far (except overlap): http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=259

And the 1M as an "investment" ? C'mon, an automobile is a depreciating asset. The 1M is no exception to that rule - it's an excellent car with quite likely a decent or even good resale value, but it ain't no Ferrari 250 GTO.

Drive and enjoy your 1M and don't worry too much about the financials.

Thank you for your reply.
Why an investment?
I bought it for fiscally reasons. Bought it on the company.
I bring everything in as a cost.
After 5 years I can buy the car for 10.000€. Resale value will be higher at that moment.
This is the way I see it as an investment.

But like you said... I will try to enjoy and don't worry about the fact how many they will produce...

????? I think I got struck by a lightning on a clear day reading your comment.

This is not exactly the best car to buy for fiscal reasons .. correct me of i'm wrong.
You say you bring everything in OK ... so how much do you think will be held to your personal account by the tax department? Please ellaborate cuz i'm eager to learn.
Do you know how much taxes you're going to pay on your personal income revenues just by driving the car. Again please fill me in on the matter.

To conclude I wish you many happy driving days with your car . All the best

personal taxes: none... Keeping a driving database can help you. Look up with your acountant.

Normaly it would be 8000 if I'm right.
There are many other solutions. The time You will be hit by the lightning, you will find them too ;-)

I think BMW UK got this just right with the "1 of 450" commitment - sad to see other countries didn't do as good a job.

Fine I wish you all the best with your so called database. It also means that every km you put on the car as to be accounted for and workrelated.
I really have a hard time believing you'll get away with it unless you should be so lucky to have a dumbass for tax inspector, wich I hope for your sake (wallet) will be the case.
Wich other solutions are there whithout passing by treasory department?
At a time where so many are turning their numberplates in and are putting their sportscars up for sale you come up with solutions? Again as I previous posted .... please fill me in I want to know and learn.
