"Bulid Sheet?"

Like many of us here I special ordered my Bimmer with the exact colours and features I wanted. From what I'm told, with some of the more expensive motorcars such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maybach, etc., owners can obtain "built sheets' from the manufacturer. These built sheets are, again from what I'm told, a history of your vehicle from the time the order was placed until the day it shipped. Are any of you familiar with what I'm referring to? And if so, can we get something similar to this document for our E90s? It sounds like something that would be way cool to have.

your refering to a car in a entirely different catagory.... when you buy brand new cars like that you get stuff like that.... ordering a 50,000$ car is not the same thing as a $200,000 car. To be honest i dont know if they do give you the sheets your talking about or even are available, but im pretty sure i know what your talking about with the bentlyey/maybachs, when they give u a framed sheet telling about the journey of your car.

sorry this sounded negative after i read it, it was not intended this way

When I bought my Jeep Liberty & Chrysler 300C both came with...
sticker on window saying built for your (First & last name) on it.
12 new cars & Chrysler seems to be only one that does this?
BMW should do this for what they charge for their cars!

Arby, thanks! Understood. I just had to ask. By the way, mine has every option available too. Only mine has gray leather.

In 2003 I special ordered the Anniversary Edition Corvette for $50,000 and it had available the 'Build Sheet" ! Doesn't have to be a $200,000 + car just to optain a build sheet! Check the web site of www.bmwusa.com and email them! Good luck!

Build sheet for E90 would be

You placed the order
Your order waited for a free slot
Your car went into production day 1 and body was built and painted
Day 2 all equipment was fitted to painted body, end of production, vehicle shipped to customer

Some of the old hand build cars like the old Aston Martins or Rolls or even Lamborghinis would have a whole book of who did what to the car what day

What's the tax in your state?? They slap on a whoppin' 15% on top of everything here and it just annoys me that part of my budget went to that Would've loved to have ALL options! But i'm still young, my next car will have it

But i'm gonna keep this one FOREVER!! give it to my kids or something

BMW on the E36 and E46 put the build sheet under the rear seat. It included every option and configuration code for that particular vehicle (including all of the inernal option codes for the packages that made the vehicle US spec).

It is an extremely boring document.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I ed and found this. Does the E90 list the options somewhere on the vehicle itself similar to the E36/46?

Got exactly what I wanted today after I had my car serviced. I asked the advisor where I could find the option list for my car, and he printed it off for me.

We bought the wifey's X3 CPO and the build sheet from the factory came in the leather binder that has the manual. The old owner must have kept it. It had the little boxes checked off as they installed various things that was on the order sheet. It was in German, though. I don't know if they supply it in English.

Did you order the car or make a "special order" of something not usually available? Do share if you made a special order.

there IS a build sheet. I have mine. It basically states what packages your car has. I got my car as a CPO, but my best friend is a sales person at a large dealership in Boston and he has access to it. I'm sure if you got it from a BMW dealership, they will look it up for you.

It's pretty cool because I could see who actually bought the car initially.
