Ordered mine yesterday!
I am currently a 3 series owner but will become a new member of the 1 series family in 6-8 weeks. I ordered mine and looking forward to receiving my VIN number so that I can start tracking the progress. One question, is the tracking progress pretty accurate?
This is a great site for info and pics. Looking forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences here as well. Here is my config: 2011 128i Cashmere Silver Boston Taupe Leather Light Oak Burl Walnut Premium Pkg Value Pkg I Drive BMW Assist Sat Radio Alarm Tinted Windows Splash Guards I know there is a Cashmere Silver thread and will be posting pics there when I take delivery. |

Congrats! I recently ordered my 2011 128i Convertible on May 28th!(Friday)
I have been tracking it on the BMW website..but It's way too early to use the tracking. My dealer said I should receive my car in 5-6 weeks. I'm not sure what to believe here... Last week they were informing me that I'll get it in 5 weeks. Sounds good...but that was a few days before I ordered the car haha.

Congrats! You can actually track it via the Production # on the receipt/order sheet. That's what I did. I didn't actually get the VIN until 2 days before delivery. It was inaccurate for me but that's because I'm in Hawaii. The progress changed to "At Preparation Center" when the boat reached Port Hueneme in California, then it took another 2-3 weeks before arriving in Hawaii.
It still says "At Preparation Center" and I've had the car for 12 days

Thanks....I will go home tonight and look for the Prod # on my receipt. Glad you like your cars too. I wish I lived in Hawaii and had my 1ER there.

If not, I suggest you consider it. Personally, I feel the sport seats alone is worth it.

It is accurate. But I would follow up with the CA to get your vin. Also... the most accurate way to track is by calling the 800 number. My car is still stuck at the prep center and I received it several months ago.

128i Ordered
I called the Dealership yesterday, I will get my VIN in about a week. I looked for a Production number but do not see one on my handwritten sales slip. I am okay to wait for the VIN.
I did not get the sports package but have seen the seats and although I did like them, I decided not too. I am sure I can find the 800 number here in the threads by next week also. Thanks all. |

Ok...got the production number from the dealer. I went to BMW Owners Circle and first deleted my current 328i and added my ordered 2011 128i. Here is how the page looks now:
I hope to have my VIN number soon. I thought my options would not show up but they are there. Thanks all! |

So Wierd.
I ordered mine on May 24th. Got the Production # and the OC still lists it as a 128i vert, not a 135i coupe? Not of the options are there? Getting it thru a GSM that I know, he called me last Friday and told me that the production was complete? Called the 800 # and it said that it was going to be completed today, June 3rd? What gives? |

Hey Dinger, Not sure but I have been told the Toll Free line is most reliable. Since you live in NC...you should get it a little faster I would think once it arrives statewide. Good luck to you.

Just called the toll free number today. Car is being transported to port for shipping. Spoke to an agent and she said that it takes 2 weeks for the crossing. I am in Missouri so it should go to the Southern US port. I also got my VIN number from her as well. Looking good!

Hi, I'm planning on getting the 135 within a year.
When talking about ordering yours- do you mean you "built your own" on the BMW USA website then did payments through there? I see vehicle prices in the dealers lots for over 40K but online I can build the 135 I want for under 36 (I assume its dealer fee/markups) BUT could I really order it online and save the money? Just curious, this will be my first car buy (New grad out of school making good money here) |

No, sorry. I worked with my local dealer and because the car was not available had to order it from the factory. If you do this, you will be able to monitor its progress in the delivery process. Congrats on the graduation and best of luck to you with your first BMW.

you can't really order online, it will just send your info to the nearest dealer.

Vehicle is at exit port awaiting shipping....I checked and the next ship leaves 6-12-10. Hope my vehicle is on that ship. Toll free number has been great in giving exact status. I understand that once the vehicle is on the ship, I can begin the tracking of it. Since I am in Missouri, hoping that Charleston is best port. I almost took Performance Delivery but just a little far away.
