Do I meed to update my interior and exterior care program

The last time I bought a new car was in 2002 and at the time, it seemed that for the exterior the common process was

1. Weekly wash or as needed using meguiars gold class
2. Periodic quick detail with Einszett or Meguiars QD
3. rims washed with only car wash soap, clay bar, polish and wax annually
4. Tires dressed with meguiars endurance
5. Bi annual clay magic clay bar, Einszett Polish and Glantz wax with PCDA and various cut foam pads.

Interior, I used

1. Microfiber w clear water on cloth
2. Lexol Vinylex on dash trim
3. Lexol Cleaner and protectant as needed on Leather

My cars were not garaged and held up very well for over 10 years and 155K.

Based on the reading I am doing here, it seems there have been some advancements in care products. So far, I bought a Nanoskin Autoscrub fine pad, Glide, Raggtopp, Sonex Full Effect rim cleaner, and Armor All rim protectant (which works amazing)

I'm hoping to get some guidance on polishes, waxes, washes and possibly coatings such as opti coat. I like a nicely detailed car and take great pride in my cars, but am not fanatical or have unlimited time to dedicate to it. If anything, I like to err on the side of simple. Would you reccomend I change what I am doing or is my system still good care with the changes I've already made?

As a reference, the car I will be mainly caring for is a 09 135i Cabrio Msport in space Grey. It needs little to no paint correction and mostly basic maintenence.

Thanks in advance.

PS As a contribution, DO NOT use Meguiars version of the spray rim protectant. It is absolutely an inferior if not useless product.

What you are doing is great! It's a healthy habit to keep your cars in tip top shape.

I have invested in Opti-Coat for paint and trim, and have done 3 of my cars so far. I say investment because I won't have to polish every other year or apply wax/sealant periodically. I still have to clay, but the time saved from not polishing/waxing was worth it to me.

If you really enjoy polishing and waxing, then keep doing what you are doing.

Sonax Wheel Cleaner is a must though. Seriously buy it, I love it.

for the interior if you like the oem matte look I would consider picking up

1z einszett Cockpit

and for the leather or leatherette pick up

Leather Master Strong Cleaner
and Leather Master Protection Cream.
