I have used Poor Boy's wheel wax and other brand's brake dust repelent; and none of them meet my expectation. I am going to try Armor All and see if it works to my satisfaction. So, please stay tuned on my findings.

The Armor All product actually works. I was getting really tired of washing the wheels on a weekly basis to remove all of the brake dust. Went to Auto Zone last week, picked up a bottle of Eagle 1 wheel/tire cleaner along with the Armor All.
Cleaned the wheels with the Eagle 1 and then sprayed on the Armor All last weekend. So far so good, no more brake dust on the front or rear wheels. Currently have a 2011 JB 128i |

I saw a comment by a Nissan engineer that said they chose break pads for the 370Z (even the Nismo model) that produced less break dust then normal but it resulted in increased brake fade and lesser braking performance. Car and Driver magazine found out about the brake fade when the brakes stopped working in a test and they crashed a 370Z NISMO model. They did a follow-up test on the brakes and the pads played a part in the failure (I think the lack of brake cooling was the other issue). However, I was suprised Nissan would knowingly decrease brake performance to decrease brake dust. Maybe the brakes in the 135 are worth the extra dust! I know I have done a few laps of a track in a 135 and never had any brake fade. I'm know there are pads out there that produce less dust...will they negatively impact the braking performance???

"spray a layer of Teflon DRY FILM after you clean your rims"
Have you tired this? I don't think that it works.

Read this post last week and I used the Armour All Rim Protectant and all I can say is WOW!!!! Just make sure you clean them really well first and the rims are dry from water then spray. Best is to let them dry overnight after application. After 4 days of hard driving the rims look clean and still shiney!

Wax your wheels with a dedicated wheel sealant (Poorboys, Swissvax, etc.). Brake dust comes off easier but more important doesn't stick that well to the wheels.
Also change brake pads. My wheels were black after a week of driving - changed the pads to EBC redStuff and brake dust was like 80% less. |

Based on my experience, Armor All is much better than Poor Boy's wheel wax in terms of ease of use and end results.

I guess a good quality sealant capable of coping with the hi-temps works as well. Never really had an issue with caked on brake dust. Washing the car every week gets that sorted. Have to wax them once every month and washing can be done with just soapy water. |

Please read my previous review, trust me, Armor All is a much better product. It is because I have used Poor Boy wheel wax and Eagle 1 brake dust repellent products before I switched to use Armor All and it is amazing that how good and how easy to apply as compare to other products which I used before.

Second on AA. Amazing stuff. You can really see how well it works when you miss a wheel section!

I was looking for the Armor all stuff here in Germany...does anyone know where to get it.
On a side note, there is a rebate for the Armor All wheel stuff at: http://www.armorall.com/pdf/wheel_rebate.pdf |
