So the projectors in the headlight have a bit of blue in them already O_O???

If I did 6K HID AE and 8K on xenons, would I'd get a pure white setup???

No. The optics (i.e. glass) inside the projectors make the light appear slightly blue.

This discussion is totally un-related to Xenon bulb life where they will naturally turn more blue over time.

Projectors give off a blue look at a distance, if you look at your Projector Headlamps up close they will look yellow, but from a distance/angle it will look blue, if you want a pure white setup, you should go with 6,000K all around.

If 8k isn't too blue I'll stick with that. If it's really blue 7k.

my only concern is the clarity of the inner ring. ive seen the other HID kit in person and it looked kinda like a big blog of light, while the outer ring looked perfect. Someone said in another thread that an 8k kit would have better ring definition than 6k, any truth to this?

Alex might have to chime in but we had a similar convo. I wanted 8k d1s and 8k ae and alex warned me that it would look like one light. Perhaps that was what you saw?

I dont think so, since it was during the day time so the headlights werent on yet. and it was the inner ring w/ the problem not the outer. If you look at the pic Alex posted from Snertz, you can almost see what I mean. The inner ring is much thicked than the outer ring, while the Lux look somewhat even, although no were near as bright. But its really hard to tell if its the pics or if its how it really looks

The cap was always a deal breaker for me, so this is very exciting, just wanna make sure I get something I like regarding balance btwn the two rings and color

I see how you would have that problem if you went w/ 8k all around

Considering I had both at one point... I would lean toward HIDS. I like the LUX initially primarily for plug n play. Given the latest solution from LUX, it would appear that both LUX and HIDs are identical with the wires running out of the caps. While the wires are significantly thinner for the LUX (which is a bonus) the HIDs and the NEW caps makes this a clear winner IMO.

absolutely agree, I only mentioned LUX for comparing the balance btwn the two rings, only to show what I meant. In fact I see this Alpine kit as the only true way to go, I just would like to see them in person to see if in fact is just the pics making them look one thicker than the other

I think the inner rings will always be brighter... it was with the LUX and it is going to be with the HIDs. The word balance does not exist withour AEs. =(. I dunno if I would discribed it as thicker but it is indeed brighter.

Ok, I'm in, after much hesitation for fears of blown fuses or headlight leveling issues I've read about from various threads. With myself now in, this places us well in the second tier of the GB price.

*7000k plus caps*

^Watch the video on the first page and you will get an idea of how the install will be. Doesn't seem too bad now that I watched it. I wish Alex would show how the new "cap" set up will look installed in the engine bay. I just want to see how clean/messy it will look.
