128i suspension refresh question

Hey all,

I have began collecting replacement parts for my 2011 128i's tired suspension (Aboout 95K miles on the stock sport suspension).

So far I have M3 front control arms and Dinan camber plates sitting in my work room but am looking to add a set of B12s into the mix, very soon.

Along with the B12 kit, I also want to replace all the necessary hardware (If anyone could chime in with a list of what to order, to pre-assemble the kit and to install, it would be GREATLY!! appreciated).

My question is what to do with rear.

I have already installed whiteline inserts**

I've read fe1rx's comprehensive testing of both stock & M3 rear parts and conclusion that I've gotten from it is...

- Upper arms: Negligible effect
- Guide rods: Positive
- Toe control arm: Positive

However, since my car is DD and won't be seeing much of track time, I think those can be replaced with stock parts? Also, rear parts look fine, visually.. how long do they last before needing replacement?

Thank you all in advance

You are very smart to replace all the wear and tear parts when you refresh your suspension, especially at your mileage. You will find the strut mounts, bumpstops, spring pads, mounts, etc, etc are all worn/rotted/rusted. That is why we recommend 100% complete, fully-assembled suspension kits. This is the Bilstein B12, but fully assembled with all necessary parts for the 128i/135i that you mentioned:

If they look fine visually and you are not getting any play or clunks, they should be fine. Guide rods are a good upgrade for a street car. Toe arms not absolutely necessary.
