Yes, they're lovely cars. The disadvantage of them are the aftermarket, when I started building that car back in 2011 there was nothing available. It had an M103 3.0L pushing about 550whp & 700wnm, and the weight of the car was 1150kg, so it was fast. Almost impossible to drive I rebuilt the whole car, it was an never ending process for sure. When I bought it, I didn't know a single thing, never touched a weld machine before so it was an quite interesting start. Started to do alot of rust repairing, Sweden and salty roads... And the cage was next up, and so it went on. The first stage of the car was finished in about 11 months. Later on I rebuilt the whole drivetrain and chassi, wasn't available to find "high end" components to the suspension so I decided to rebuilt the tubs to fit coilovers from E36, both front and rear reinforced in to the cage. Went for an GS5-39DZ gearbox from E46 330D, prop from E46 330D and differential and axles from M3 3.2 E36, the big 210 case and thing started to hold up for the power. Short summary Loved that car! But it wasn't the best trackday car, for drifting for sure but not to do fast laps Last edited by alindquist; 03-10-2020 at 01:37 AM.. |

Nice 190E, got a soft spot for them. Kind of liked the Evo2 more than the E30 M3, lol.
Is that the VAC baffle or custom/self-built ? How do you like AR1s over the distance of the 'ring lap? Consistent or noticable drop-off towards the end?

It's an nock-off off the VAC baffle, I hope it will save some bearings. I think the AR1s performe great, the ring is quite harm to the tires during the high speed and long "straights" and the facts that you don't push the limits as on an smaller course. I had big wastegate problems when i visited the ring, the last 10km I was almost all out of boost.. But I was available to set a 8.36 with a restart of the car and boost problems so Im really pleased. Next time I hope for a sub 8. Thank you! Last edited by alindquist; 03-09-2020 at 02:24 PM.. |

Has someone got rid of the terrible pedal feel and spongyness in the brakepedal without changing to real deal calipers? Atm I'm running stock pistons, Pagid RSL29 pads, braided lines and RBF660 fluid. I rather change calipers than buying new stainless pistons for 500$...
I'm also experiencing like a drop in the pedal during maximum brake load, suddenly the pedal drops a few millimeters and the brake warning light appears, next corner it's back to normal?!.. Any coding that's actually necessary to do for track use? Last edited by alindquist; 04-06-2020 at 04:30 AM.. |

Hello! Sorry for being inactive for a while, 2020 what a year... Haven't been able to do some track driving this year during the pandemic, but that gave me time and money to finish my garage or at least work on it.
Before I took the car out in May I did some reinforcements to the rear trailing arms, just boxed em up to insure that they won't bend. My rear pads were worn out so mounted a fresh set of Pagid RSL29's, I actually hate the fact that they're yellow. "Eeey are you running EBC YellowStuff?" God damn it.. And last update so far, got a new shifter. Btw, let me know if you think I upload the pictures to big. |

Nice build and thanks for sharing.
Do you have any pictures of the oil coolers and brake ducting? Would love to see how they are installed.

...is that how the Coolerworx shifter is supposed to be installed?
I have mine rotated 180 degrees (which required cutting and loss of that mid-console cubby). I may have to make some changes Where did you find the yellow cable though? Looks good! Last edited by guywiththefro; 11-21-2020 at 09:54 PM.. Reason: Noticed that sicc yellow cable |

Actually I don't know, I bought the shifter for E8x and made my own bracket for it, thought it looked best like that!. I order it custom from Coolerworx |

Ah, I used their e82 bracket. I do agree that yours looks better! I opted for the stealth approach, but I should show it off .

This might help agains the terrible pedal feel, did some coding with ProTool and deacivated this codes. I set the remaining codes as 1m, interesting how this will effect the car.
FLR ("Engine Power Reduction to Prevent Brake Disc Overheating") FBS ("Brake Fading Compensation") BB_RAB ("Brake Standby") Also, changed the stock pistons to stainless ones. |

Wop wop! Finally rebuilt the terrible axle back system. The plan was to rebuild the whole system, from the dual 3" downpipes to a dual 2,5" mid section collecting up to a single 3,5". But I decided to just rebuild the axle back section now, less pain for my wallet. The axle back section is made of 1,5mm 3.5" stainless.
Also changed the rubber bushings in the front M3 controlarms to monoballs. |
