Tranny porn
I decided to rebuild the trans since I have it out and opened it up today, it was fairly easy to do to! Does any one have the specs on the steel plates? The ones I measured are 2.38 mm using dial calipers. I have a overhaul kit with friction plates coming but not sure if I need steel plates or not.

This company is AWESOME for ZF service kits and service parts...
http://www.thectsc.com/ ZF also has A LOT of technical info online... http://www.zf.com/corporate/en/produ..._corporate.jsp PS: in your first pic... I seem to recall an issue with that black "park plunger" breaking. I think BMW has an updated part. When it breaks the trans won't engage the park "pawl" so the car will roll away. Its a cheap easy fix.

That's where I ordered the parts from! Good prices and real ZF parts, not China stuff..

I see clutch packs and valve body so I know it's an auto, what was the reason for the rebuild and is it gonna handle more hp and tq or just a basic rebuild?

Rebuilding the engine so might as well rebuild the trans. It's cheap to rebuild compared to the engine.
