Considering some upgraides..

Hello BMW Hivemind!

I picked up my 2013 Is about a month and a half ago. I've done some deferred maintenance repair work and I'm ready to start looking at performance mods.

I have these recommendations from my indie mechanic. (all new plugs and coil packs first)

My main question for all y'all is, Will the VRSF FMIC be necessary if I'm not intending to do a massive turbo replacement? I don't plan to track the car, so this will continue to be my daily driver. I just want more oooomph!

TIA!

The downpipe and FMIC will both be a flow improvement and let you run a tune for higher power. Well, more power from a tune than if you didn't replace them. If you don't plan to run a tune then I doubt you'd see any difference whatsoever. The boost they gave the IS doesn't seem to have overwhelmed any of the stock components.

Up to you of course, but most IS owners seem to be happy with where their car is from the factory already having boosted it.

The chargepipe is more of a preventive maintenance thing. Factory versions have been known to pop along their seems. It's not a massive problem but does happen.

The intake might be fun to swap but even with a tune I doubt you'll see a power gain, or at least not much of one.

I should have mentioned, I do plan to get a tune. I'm aiming for reliable ~400hp/400tq. I hope to get there without needing to replace the turbo.

And I should have spelled 'upgrades' properly. D'oh!
