It must be a real bummer for you guys in the northern hemisphere with the extreme summer/winter weather cycles. Having to use different tyres, oils, not driving your beautiful 1ers because of ice, 6ft of snow, plus whatever damage salt is doing to your cars. If it is any consolation, in my home town of Brisbane today it was mid 30's, windy as hell and covered in a blanket of smoke from the many bushfires burning in the SEQ/NE NSW area at the moment. If anyone out there thinks that leather seats are "luxurious", damn you to hell!
My 128i is my daily driver year round. I'm hoping to hold off putting the winter tires on for another two weeks. My three season tires are all-seasons so I should be ok.

No picture, but hit 80k this past week. That's 35k in about 15 1/2 months or so.

Wrap is done! Well, mostly. I have a couple panels I want to redo but the car is all red right now. Headlights are with Rush Customs in. Atlanta and will be back to me in a couple weeks with a bunch of work done. I can't wait to see everything come together

Was debating on garaging it for winter but I think I'll drive it lightly, no snow, sunny etc...
Changing out the reservoir wasn't too bad, never done it before and lost a lot of fluid but a good learning experience(yes I did empty the reservoir first)...
Running the green springs on the DV's, will purchase yellows after Dinan tune...

Got that mess of wires off. Removed the trans.

Next up is pull valvecover and block pcv ports.
Then walnut blast intake. Thinking I'll see what it does to exhaust too, I mean why not.
Replace OFH gasket.
Replace oil pan gasket, though now looking I think the leak is actually the turbo oil drain, but I have a pan gasket and I don't feel like trying to do it in car if it is the pan leaking.

Then have to put all the new go fast bits on.

I just picked up a really clean 2013 128i with M sport package, so spent the Sunday getting some seat time, programming garage door opener, and attempting to pair my iPhone to the Bluetooth. By the way, is there some sort of trick to play music through the darn radio? I've searched through all the menu settings and can't seem to find anything. I don't have the iDrive (not sure if that matters).

Here is a picture of the car if anyone is curious. It's my first BMW!

My first addition(s) to the car will be returning to OEM blue badges. And ditching the black factory 17's (powder coated by PO). Any ideas on wheels? I'm thinking a bronze would look cool on the black.

Welcome!

I have iDrive, and the only way I could get either phone (Android or iOS) to play through the stereo is with a cord. Both AUX and USB work on mine. Not sure what inputs you have available.
Bluetooth works great for hands-free calls when necessary.

Thanks man. I hope to contribute on here to the best of my abilities with the limited knowledge I have on these things.

And yes, as it turns out this is the case with the bluetooth. You can only receive calls through the bluetooth, no streaming music. Oh well, I do have the aux. hookup and USB connection. I think the aux sounds better anyway.

Sadly, I check fluids and such, threw some fuel stabilizer in the tank, and hooked up the battery tender. Time for it's winter nap.

You need a dongle or to plug it into the Aux plug. Phone works over BT, but music doesn't.

Congrats and welcome! That's a sweet E82.

BT music requires iDrive and a 2012-2013 build car. Unfortunately for your car, factory BT music won't be possible without iDrive.

You can use a Viseo Tune2Air to get BT streaming and steering wheel controls through AUX/USB.

For maintaining the best sound quality, you can install this device that requires a bit more work:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F123783948264

It runs off the CD changer interface and therefore connects directly through the car's fiber optic system for full digital audio. Also gives you steering wheel controls. You can elect not to use the BT/mic side and just keep connected to your factory setup for phone calls.

Congratulations and welcome! I have a 2012 128i M Sport coupe. I don't have iDrive, but I can stream music from my iPhone using the USB port under the armrest. I'm not sure whether it was an option or whether it came standard.
You connect the iPhone to the USB, then on the radio you select the source as "iPod", and it thinks the phone is an iPod. You can play Spotify, iTunes, etc. You can even control it using the steering wheel controls. It will also announce turn-by-turn directions from Waze or Google Maps over the stereo speakers.

After chopping up my fuel bucket(went bucketless because I beat the hell out of the first one taking it apart) Well it works great so far but I found another on ebay $60 and it arrived yesterday.
Took this one apart in 10 min with no problems. Everything is so much easier the 2nd time doing it.
I'm going to make a stage 2 bucketed pump and keep my bucketless as well. Just in case I run into starvation issues. Always good to have a backup plan.

What iOS do you have? I can’t get my iPhone to work like this. It doesn’t recognize anything is there when I use the iPod key.

I, sniff sniff, put her to bed in my garage. Winter came in like a lion yesterday and tons of salt was down on the roads. Didn't even get a chance to wash her, nor change the oil (its only got about 2500 miles on the oil). If it does warm up in the next month or so, I'll take care of the oil and wash her. Presently its about 15ºF but expect it will drop a few more degrees tonight.
