Mine did that when I got it. I soaked it in Armor all along the edges and it works much better. It really needs some lube that is plastic safe.
Interested, I didn't think of that. I'll give that a shot, thanks!

edit- I see you have a 128i, so those would actually work perfectly for you I believe?
Cool, these are similar to what I bought, but a little nicer looking!

Here is what I got.

They look better than my faded stockers, but not as good as I had hoped.

3rd transmission fluid change at 113k miles.
Went from MTL to ATF D4.

MTL is great in the summer, but sucked in the winter. ATF D4 is still as smooth in the summer but I've had better shifts with it in the winter so sticking with the D4 going forward.

More track time.

Let off Just before the 1,000' on the first slip. First run of the night and car just felt off.

Second is my best of the night/year. Car still feels off. I'm missing 3 to 4 th's off what I was doing last year in the 1/8th (7.4's). But I'm equaling my 1/4 times from last year.
So I think I picked up top end but lost bottom. Kinda strange. But these where also made on 3* less timing and 15K miles between (or so).
Moral, car still gets down. 119,xxx miles, stock turbos, minimal smoke (slight haze) and 26-28 psi peak.

VW service position, assume it. You're probably already familiar but service position on a VW is real quick and easy.

Ugh that diff looks so beautiful. I need one..
It is quite pretty...

At least we'll have mid-80's and dry weather for the rest of the week into the weekend :
Plus all the rain? At least in MD where I'll be

The title of the listing mentions E87 but the description mentions E82 & E87. Their photos also show multiple E82 with the lights, including the Seibon 135i which also leads me to believe they will work

Garage List
1992 Honda Beat  [9.50]
2008 BMW 128i  [10.00]
2014 BMW 528i  [10.00]
Can't remember if I ever uploaded these here. If I already did oh well

Bilstein B12 kit is in, alignment done, putting some Pilot Super Sports on later this afternoon. Gonna have to give these old Pirellis a send off

Got my cooling system finally sorted too. Few new hoses and plenty of Zerex G48

Did my transmission fluid while she was up in the air too. Figured I did it once at 80k, now at almost 120k it's worth doing again. Got a sample to send to Blackstone labs too. I wonder how chooched my syncros are getting.

Awesome thread and pictures folks. I am helping a friend with his M1, and it has given me a new appreciation for the 1 series.

Nice hot day, decided to take a long drive to test the decontaminated and refilled a/c.

On auto, it took 3 minutes to make the interior cool, 8 minutes in and it started to get cold.

10 minutes later, i switched from auto to manual. Like it when things work as they should

Wish I looked like I was 20, instead of looking like I'm 25...

I wish!

Black cars are notoriously difficult to shoot at night since they don't reflect any light. You basically have to surround the car with light in order for the shot to work. I think he did a good job with that - smart choice of location. I'm excited to see your car after the wrap. You're going with that deep yellow right?

My buddy has a good eye for it. I believe most of those are composite pictures also. He told me he was shooting 3-5 at different exposures so that he could make sure to highlight the car.

I am doing the yellow, actually ordering tomorrow. I'm very excited for it as I'm not really a fan of black cars lol but I only wanted a black 135 because I knew I was going to be wrapping it multiple times. For someone who gets bored of a color quickly like me, keeping the jambs and bay black is helpful. I think I'm most excited to light paint the yellow as I love that style of photos of cars. Here's a couple pictures he had done of my Jetta at his previous job

Looks very good! I hadn't thought of the bay/jambs being black, but that's a great point. It would look odd if you had two different colors visible when you opened the door (one from the wrap and one from the paint).

I really want to get a decent shot of my 1er soon, but I've been spending time trying to get it running right and now doing the suspension. I did get a chance recently to shoot my father-in-law's C6 Vette a few weeks ago. This shot is about 10 exposures with a handheld flash.

And my first attempt at shooting a car at night was my 1er right after I bought a flash. It didn't turn out great lol

Those are great. I love shots like that. You can really make a presentation of your subject with light painting and composite shots. I've never been great at it but I gave it a shot myself on my buddy's car while down in Georgia for Southern Worthersee
