It will be interesting to see what Dinan comes up with for the one. His work on the E36 M3 made me a believer in his tuning. I rode with Steve D. at Thunderhill in his stage 3 E36 and it was phenomenal. If he makes similar efforts for the ONE, we should all be happy campers. Yes his prices are high, but usually you retain the factory warranty.

I think that the Tii is going to disappoint those that only talk in straight line terms, HP, 1/4 mile times, etc. |

If they can't get a 4-cyl Tii to weigh less than 3,100 lbs, then I'm not interested at all (135i would be the faster car). I wouldn't sacrifice that sweet 6-cyl unless they could get the car under 3,000 lbs. 3,100 lbs is still a pig of a car - might as well have a powerful and torquey pig

Already have a 3,000lb car with 232hp and while its very agile it's too slow. While it won't be as true to the orginal 2002 I think the Tii is best servered with lighter weight and more power from the TT 6. It would also need a LSD.
Only thing for me is I would need to get it used because this would surely beover $40k. |

How about the NA N52 engine with direct injection - putting out around 260+ HP and delivering 33+ MPG on the highway, push the back of the block to the firewall (reducing weight ahead of the front axle centerline) and having ZF build a nice DSG transaxle/LSD diff and remove the backseat in the process (it only has two doors, why does it need more than two seats? ; -). Lightweight wheels and tires (no taller than needed to clear the brakes), remove the luxo touches (sound deadening and sunroof) to trim vehicle weight under 2800 lbs and you got a fun little car!!

I would have thought this tidbit of info would have been mentioned by BMW. I think these guys are writing a hoping for article and not presenting actual facts.
