Raihax: I got a piece of aluminium and put it between the two front bolts under the front seat. Then attached the bracket to the aluminium and a 1kg extinguisher fits in there nicely.

It mounts to under the passenger seat and supposedly it doesn't get in the way of the passenger's leg. I figure having one in the cabin is a lot better then the trunk as I would be able to access it faster. I am going to get one, with meth and all better safe then sorry! Seems like the OEM one is cheap enough |

So the LHD version just punts it on the driver's seat? I thought the extinguisher needs to be reached by the driver seating down?

I was reading on the M3 forum that it seems it gets mounted on the passenger side but then I saw on another forum that it gets mounted on the driver seat. so not sure which one is correct! |

I've only seen it mounted on the passenger side. Thats mostly on MB models for some reason. I think the reason why you want it on the passenger side is JUST incase it were to come off its mounting - you don't want to loose control of your car. On my German spec e39 535i it came with a first aid kit under/infront of the passenger seat. Btw... Amazon.de sells a FEUERLOESCHER The one you want is the 2nd one called: Gloria http://www.amazon.de/s/?ie=UTF8&keyw...l_70oblz5tgt_b |

You want it on the driver's seat.
