Allegedly I'm #1 on the list @ my dealer. No deposit requested, even though I said "I'll be right up with a check if you need it". Maybe because I'm a repeat customer of theirs.

Whatever - we'll see if it holds up when it's go time.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream.

Ouch. Did you put that down recently?

JoeR was asked to put £2k down.

Seems UK dealers are now upping their deposit requirements.

Called my only local dealer yesterday and they won't be taking names or deposits until January when pricing is confirmed and actual orders can be made. Methinks that they are planning a dealer markup over MSRP.

I hope that the specific quantity production and allocation per dealer is not true, since it will probably guarantee the markup at my dealer. I am not willing to pay over MSRP (plus import taxes and fees).

Put it down this morning!

Originally they wanted £2k but I pushed them down a bit. To be honest I was a bit too excited!

We did the finance figures too.
With the price being on the BMW UK website today, my dealer gave me a price (obviously less VAT as im in the channel islands!) so they are sure it will not change much from the figure we worked out, unless there are extras that will be available.

They contacted BMW later today and put the order/ allocation in for my car.

They hope I will be able to go up in January and spec it up if there is any options.

They are hoping it will be here in march.

Can't wait - I am so excited!!

Just not looking forward to insuring it for me - a 20 year old girl! Ha

^LOL. @ nearly 40 years old with no claims for ever, Insurance is certainly the least of my worries!

Interesting they say you got an allocation in. How'd that work?

I am financing too, did they give you any figures?

Cheers,

Mark.

I will cross that hurdle when I get to it! Lol.

Well they explained it to me that they needed to contact BMW as soon as possible to tell them they had a secure order for the 1M and therefore will hopefully be allocated and have one secured since only 450 are coming to the UK.

Yeh I have a pretty accurate figure. I am going to be trading in a car against it.
I will have quite a good rate as we have bought so many cars from the garage before.

Will you be trading in a car against it?

Have you been told anything else by your dealer?

Same dealer as Eugene.

Not too many details at the moment but will hopefully be able to spec one up by Janurary (only two weeks away!) and then I may have to firm things up with a more substantial 10% deposit.

No financials at the moment and no guarantees.

Do have one car to trade which lease ends June.

Yup was asked to put 2K down. However went to an other dealership and they asked for £500. So in line with you Mark. Wonder where I'll be going...

Yeah I'm in my 20's as well and was wondering about insurance! Thinking price wise somewhere between a 135i and an M3?
