You getting one Pov? I'm giving the RS up for one, it'd better be good as the TT has been a real eye opener for me, excellent car, just the magnetic draw of the M car that's made me change.

No need to switch from TT RS to 1M, unless you *want* rear wheel drive.
But since you currently own an RS, I suppose you *don't* ?

I have 1M on order, but if I didn't have abandoned airfield where I can go whip out the tail and do snow-slides in winter, I'd get the TT RS with DSG, or RS3.

The DSG's are better as daily driver; I do a lot of commuting (and traffic jams).

One day I will also get a M car, but at the moment im still really happy with the TT and I love the 4wd which allows the performance to be accessible all year round.

I do want to drive one though to see what its like!

Will be good to read your review of the 1m once you get it!

I've had a 135 and an e92 M3 in the past so I've got a pretty good idea of how the 1M should drive - It should be excellent, I hated the gutless V8 in the M3, it had nothing till 4k, so the extra low down torque over the 135 should make the car feel very responsive at low revs, which should make dabbling in oversteer at low speeds in the wet a lot easier.

I'll keep you and VAGOC posted...

Ok guys, convince me (not that I need a lot of convincing). 3 years is about as long as I've ever kept a car, so was thinking about moving on from the 135i. Test drove a C63 AMG (great finance offers from MB till tomorrow, given the impending C class facelift) - wanted to love it, hated it. Decided to keep my 135i, which I love.... and then decided to actually read about the 1M :-)

Pretty much made up my mind to order one tomorrow when my sales-lady is back from her day off today. I'm going to go for basically the same spec as I have on the 135i, so the options choice is easy, but colour...... I'm totally drawn between (relatively) sensible AW and VO, which I think I like, but obviously it's very hard to know without seeing one.

Any thoughts. My office is just down the A329M from BMW UK, so I'd be happy to pop in and see them if there was any way I could get to see a VO or AW 1M there - any thoughts / ideas / suggestions?

I'm not far away myself so if you manage to bag a chance to see either of them then consider me up for it.

Have ordered BSM but leaning heavily toward AW. Would like to see them all in the flesh before I have to commit 100% (build week 6th June so still have time).

Have you considered the M3? Though the financing is considerably more expensive than 1M and the offers arent as good as the MB as far as I can see.

I considered M3, C63 and 1M but have always wanted M. Shame the M3 got too big but 1M is the perfect replacement. Not sure I would still go for it if I had a 135i, I tend to go for something different each time.

Who are you looking to purchase from?

Welcome! Looking at the options on your 135i I'm guessing you've gone for fully loaded rather than a stripper?

That's 18 out of 450 so far then. Clive, did your dealer give any indication on how 1M sales are going, I wonder if the full allocation is anywhere near sold yet?

Yes, she said that "about half" were already gone, and obviously they expected interest to ramp up as soon as they actually start hitting the roads....

Interesting, the 500 RS3s sold out in a couple of weeks but I suppose it appeals to a wider audience.

If the press reports are good the rest should fly off the shelves. I'm guessing the press launch is imminent now, read in my local paper that it's being held up here in the Highlands, may even spy one on the road.

Ideally one with Logic7/Professional Speaker system.

Re-Mortgage the house so you can buy a 1M - you know it makes sense!

I think PMs aren't enabled for you yet, but I'm in exactly this position. You can see the spec of my car below... (I'd actually replied to your Pistonheads post a few minutes ago! ).

Hi All,

I've just put a deposit on a 1M from my dealership in newcastle, so thought id pop in to say hi!

Just sold my E92 M3 and would love to be getting straight in to the 1M, but ive asked to delay delivery until september so i can do my new house up in the meantime. I've bought a little 206 GTI 180 to run around in until then......its an absolute blast!

Im going for black but not sure what else yet. Not bothered about the nav at £2000 though!
