What's below the CD drive?

Just like the title says, is there anything behind that blank panel? Could a storage bin be put in there like the E46 had?

That is a good question. A little more storage would be handy. Anyone?

You can get the rubber door pocket inserts. I did. They were like $9.00 for two. Local dealership can order. I got the part numbers from RealOEM.

If you have Navigation, the CIC unit occupies just behind the blank panel. If not , I think there is some good usable space

Insert mat, door pocket, left SCHWARZ 1 51419120155 $5.73
Insert mat, door pocket, right SCHWARZ 1 51419120156 $5.64

Fit was perfect. Best $9.00 I've spent in a while. Good luck.

Just to clarify, these are just little rubber mats that fit in the door pocket to keep stuff from rattling around, right?

Makes no sense why they werent on the car in the first place. If I didnt have the 135 I would never have even known they exist.

There are actually 3 pockets per door; that is two-pockets and a smaller raised tray in the middle of the two
