How about the 5-60 times that Car and Driver gets on their test drives?

I find those numbers are more real-world that the average Joe can get without frying the clutch. In this aspect, the cars that do not fare well are the ones with turbo (eg. WRX) or torque peak at high rpm (eg. S2000).

I agree. From C&D:

5-60: 6.3 for 330, and 6.8 for 325
0-100: 15.8 for 330, and 16.8 for 325
1/4: 14.8@98 for 330, 14.7@94 for 325

all in all, pretty darn close in performance between 325 and 330.

Man, are you for real? How old are you anyway? I am really happy for you that you can afford 330 while I drive around in my poor 325.... Haha... Man, I needed a good laugh today.

There are numerous threads addressing acceleration. I suggest that you do a search. Summed up, acceleration times depend on a number of variables including the driver, atomspheric pressure (Did I mention the driver?), altitude (Did I mention the driver?), tire pressures, tire design, compound and condition (Did I mention the driver?), road surface (Did I mention the driver?), etc., etc.

Stop the bickering, children. We didn't buy our BMW's to compete on 0-60 times. There are plenty of cheaper rally cars, other sedans, and even trucks that can whip our asses 0-60. What's worse is this fighting between the E90 owners. People buy whichever model based on their own reasons and needs. Most people don't need or even want that much power, considering the speed limits in the US are 65-70. Resorting to "nya nya my car is better, you are poor" is asinine and extremely childish.
